Thursday Thirteen #95

Thirteen Foods that are part of my Thanksgiving Dinner

1. Turkey breast: First time not making the whole turkey, but it's just the three of us, so...
2. Ham: Why not?
3. Butternut squash, braised in cider
4. Fresh rosemary, from the bush I rescued from outside and brought to the plant lady at work (I'm using that in the squash dish)
5. Brussels sprouts, chestnuts and shallots in a brown butter sauce
6. Stuffing, which also has chestnuts in it...and celery & onion, too!
7. Mashed potatoes (I don't like gravy, but I'll have some for Dad & my brother)
8. Cranberry sauce: from the can...I like it better than homemade LOL!
9. Pumpkin pie, made from roasted pumpkins and with a graham cracker crust; I also substituted some black molasses for some of the sugar. It's in the oven now!
10. Apple crisp: oatmeal, maple, brown sugary goodness, topped with
11. Vanilla ice cream
12. Coffee
13. Gingerale

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it!

Sounds yum, I think I might pop over for dinner. :)
Funny how you call butternut pumpkin 'squash'. We call other stuff squash - no doubt related.

I like cranberry sauce out of the can best too! :)

Yum, Janet!

The kids and I baked today, and we have another cake to bake tomorrow. One can of pumpkin, three desserts. I don't think I'll complain -- if we can get the pumpkin chocolate chip bread out of the pan!

Three of you and only a turkey breast? We have a 26 pound bird, and there's only 4 of us. -grin-

We will be having almost all of the same things for feasting! I agree cranberry sauce from the can is the best. I don't know why I only eat it on thanksgiving.

In the immortal words of the Ray-tard: Yum-o!

I've been stalking for a while now and love your blog. Stop by for some bannediliciousness sometime soon.

This week my TT is for shits and giggles.

Wow, sounds like you are an awesome cook. That brown butter sauce sounds great. I love all things cranberry.

I never ask why when it comes to ham. If someone says "Ham" I say "yes!"

It all sounds delicious. I love butternut squash, but it won't be on the menu because I'm the only one in my family who appreciates it. Thanks for visiting my TT, and happy Thanksgiving.

Mmmmm...Mmmmm. Your pumpkin pie sounds utterly amazing! I'll take a huge slice of that and a hot cup of joe! In the words of my late momma, "Love don't last....but good cookin' do!" I never knew what that meant until lately. LOL

And by the way, your T13 header totally ROCKS out loud!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yum. Sounds great! I'd love to experiment a little, but Thanksgiving in our family is all about the traditional. Christmas is when I get to experiment, because nobody but me cares what we eat, as long as they can play with the presents!

Mmmm I wanna come to your house for Thankysgiving! Sounds delish! Butternut squash! I'll have your gravy! :)
