My Sacred Life
Day 2
I once said that I could be defined by my obsessions. I don't know that I'm obsessed (shut it!) with Johnny Depp (maybe his character, Captain Jack Sparrow) OR Alan Rickman (atho...as you all know I AM fond of Snape), but I certainly do enjoy both men's work on screen.
In the movie theaters this December will be Sweeney Todd. I've never seen the musical nor did I really have any desire to (I keep saying I don't care for musicals, although I've loved almost every one I've seen, the last being Les Mis, but that's a whole other story) but I am certainly looking forward to this movie. To see both of my favorite actors on screen together...well...can I just say WOOHOO!?!
Here's an excerpt from an interview with Johnny Depp...these two particular questions and answers intrigued me as I was very much a Dark Shadows fan back in the day (didn't care for another other daytime soap opera...just this one):
Q: And what about talk that you'd like to do a Dark Shadows feature, from Dan Curtis' old occult soap-opera TV series?
JD: If that comes to fruition, that's a dream come true, man. Barnabas Collins-- when I was a kid I wanted to be Barnabas.
Q: Why him? Why a vampire?
JD: I think a lot of kids did. He was super-mysterious, with that really weird hairdo and the wolf's-head cane. Good stuff.
Indeed! *swoon*

A musical and some Johhny Depp. My day is now complete.
How did I miss that they were BOTH in that? I knew about JD, but AR? Really? It's like they made it just for you! Now, if only they could ad a LZ soundtrack and it would be like the movie of your dreams!
Johnny Depp...purr....
Michele sent me over, Janet.
I occasionally watched Dark Shadows at a babysitter's house when I was a really young kid. It's one of my earliest television memories. Last year I saw an episode on some cable channel and was shocked at how schlocky it was. Oh well. I think that arch gothic stuff is more for girls.
I think my favorite Rickman role will always be from Die Hard. He was just so damn good in that role! He is a marvelous actor every time out.
JD as Barnabas Collins would be SO awesome!!!
I can't wait for Sweeney Todd. (But then I adore musicals!)
It sounds very interesting! I love Tim Burton movies! And Johnny Depp "can sing." That'll make me wanna see a musical. You must be floating on cloud nine. lol
need a light for that cigarette?
yep. me too, baby. well, on the rickman part, anyway...mr. depp is fun to watch though.
did you ever seen any of the "dark shadows" reboot with ben cross as barnabas collins? that was my kind of vampire!
oh, and have you seen "blow dry"? it'snot a good movie but it's kind of fun to watch mr. rickman being a little silly (and i seem to remember he's tattooed...and you love tats...and you love him so...oh, just watch it!)
*Swooning so much I am leaning off my chair...THUD!!
Dark Shadows was my mother's favorite show. She was intrigued by Barnabas.
By the Way....I just created this blog, take a peek at the YouTube I found...you'll like it ;x)

Wow. Alan Rickman and Johnny Depp in one photograph. It's like Christmas.
Gawd, I'm going to have to watch a musical.
I think they'll be awesome together (even if they don't make me swoon ;-) )
Hi Janet! Thanks for the visit. I o;nce played the apprentice Tobias in sweeney Todd when I was in my thirties - and a laydee:)
A coworker,(the one I swoon for- going terribly btw) insisted I had to see Sweeny Todd the musical & brought me the dvd to view, I was not disappointed, it really was pretty good & I hate musicals for the most part too!
I fully expect it to be dark and disturbing and utterly fabulous!!
Can't wait!!
Mama Kelly

Sorry! I missed the boat for your choco recipe, I didnt have one :o(.
I cant WAIT to see sweeney!
If I had been properly caught up on my blog reading I would have KNOWN you'd seen the previews for this before I emailed you from the movie theater on Sunday afternoon! ;-)
