Poppet and the Prince

As you all saw on Saturday, I spent most of that day in the backyard reading & writing notes...but I stopped writing as I got deeper and deeper into the story. Y'all will have to go to Zoot's for the blow-by-blow!

I'm still not ready to talk about it...so I hope this picture will hold you over! It's not REALLY a spoiler, but the picture does contain the name of one of the chapters.

Freaking fantastic!

I can't wait until it is safe to discuss it without fear of ruining it for others.

Do you know, despite the fact that we have not met, I actually thought about you when I got to that chapter. I'm glad you can still be fond of snape. Were you worried for a bit? Because it seemed like up till that moment, Snape wasn't looking so good.

I thought exactly the same thing Elizabeth did!

What a great story!

Call me slow, but I'm getting there.

Pretty much exactly what I thought! How specific are we allowed to get here?

Posted by Mamacita at July 23, 2007 1:24 PM

I too thought about you when I read that chapter. Wow....I finished the book in a day and a half...I half to admit, I'm going to re-read it. Just WOW!

That should read, I "Have to admit" lol....

Can't wait to talk about this one!! ;)

I Believe...

I am in literary bliss.

I finished it last night--posted some thoughts about it this morning. I think I'm still processing because overall, I wasn't too impressed. I'm waiting for my opinion to change.

I'm so glad you were right about Snape! That made for a much better story. Although he did look very much like a coward when he jumped from the window.

I couldn't put it down, and I immediately thought of you during a certain chapter at the end of the book.

I started reading it at 7pm on Saturday, and finished reading it at 5:10 am Sunday.

I put it down twice, but not for very long.

It was amazing. What a ride.

Hey did you notice that "that boy" from Order of the Phoenix wasn't James as I thought it was?

I'm refering to when Petunia admitted that she knew what Dementors were.

Poppet is reading harry potter :) I want to discuss w/ you!

That's interesting - the US version has illustrations. UK version doesn't.

Posted by Julie at July 23, 2007 7:29 PM

I am finally done!!! :) I want a poppet...they are cute.

Posted by Amy at July 23, 2007 7:42 PM

Did you love it? My son is reading it first....

Posted by Nancy at July 23, 2007 9:40 PM

Ah....finished at last...it was glorious!! And I, like you, was holding out hope that Snape would redeem himself somehow...and what a burden was lifted when he did!! *wipes tears* ;) An awesome read!! I think I'll be smiling for several days! :)

Janet,
As we had previously discussed, regarding who might die and who might live in HP and the DH, we were both right, and yet the final chapter, quite rightly, allows someone to live on, in name at least....

I hope that you enjoyed the book as much as I did....

N.
Oh, and Michele, who won't be reading HP, sent me to tell you this!

Loved it, loved it, loved it! Don't want to post quite yet, until I have time to do it right.

... I KNEW Snape was a good guy, I just knew it. LOL

I also thought of you when I got to that particular chapter.

Janet, you've made a name for yourself in Blogland!

Posted by colleen gleason at July 25, 2007 2:31 PM

I just got through with the book at 7 a.m. this morning, and now I want to go around blogland and see what others are thinking! I ran across your blog last summer, and I bookmarked it in my favorites! I knew I'd have to come here when I was done with the book.

I also just knew Snape had to be in on it with Dumbledore when I read book 6. Knew it! But all the backstory is really good in this chapter, and he is redeemed. He's still pretty mean and unneccesarily cruel to Harry, but I knew he'd turn out good at the core. :-)

Love your photo!
