Here's last Wednesday's picture:

This is the shot it was cropped from:

Popcorn...I went through a good many before I found one I thought would make a good photograph.
Lots of you got it right last week, teej was the first ... and she was cute about it: "Ooh! OOoh! I know this one!! It's a popcorn kernel, popped. Yea! *bounce* I'm so happy! I almost *never* get them figured out until you post the full picture. (Yes, I know, most normal adults would not be this excited about this.. *shrug*)"; Wil cracked me up: "Here I was, comparing this to the structures of a dragonfly wing when it was staring me in the mug the whole time - popcorn. Jeez!".
As always, thanks for playing!

Oh! Crikey! I have no idea what it is! I just thouht I'd mention that I'm watching a cartoon movie called "Help, I'm a fish" which is voiced by Alan rickman.
I think it is a roof.
I'm going with turret and roof :-).
yep, Im going with a roof too...
A tunnel made out of red and gray bricks? I wanted to say it was the roof to Snape's summer get away home, but I saw that other people had already guessed roof and I wanted to be original. ;-)
They look to me like blocks or bricks that have been painted, but who knows (besides you) what they comprise. Happy Wednesday. Come on over to My Photo Blog.
I am going to guess that is is a roof and turret kind of thing like Robin said and I bet you took it at the DeCordiva this weekeknd????
Clearly it's a picture of squares. Duh. ;) Since Michelle was so specific, I'll go with her answer.
A fountain?
Obviously, they are rain clouds!
You know me, I just have nooooo idea -- noooo thinking outside the box on this end.
It looks like something from a craft Fair. Mosiacs or something. Perhaps a lamp. Good one!
This is a tough one....it looks like a roof but it could also be floor tiles...taken from a funny angle?! Gotta admit, you got me!
I love your photographs. I take masses, but not many come out as good as yours, you must have an eye for it.
Michele sent me to say hi, by the way! :)
No effing idea. Others have said roof but I'm not accustomed to multi-coloured rooves like that. The left hand bit looks like it's faded so it must catch the sunlight. Perhaps. Something in a bathroom maybe - tiles. Dunno, give up.
It looks like a roof to me, or roofs - plural. How do you say that? Rooves? Roofes? Hahahah.
This checkerboard pattern looks like it's a pen and ink illustration with a watercolor wash, so I'm voting for a small portion of a print from the late 18th or early 19th century.
It looks like one of those charming little fairytale shingled roofs to me...
Those look like a pair of legs, crossed, wearing some very worn out Alice in Wonderlandish knickers.
Looks like the roof of a windmill house at the putt putt golf place.
