This is such a gorgeous shot... I think perhaps the little robin could have survived this, maybe just the remnants of his shell? One of my shots this week is a broken robin's egg, but it fell out of the nest and the little embryo chick died. This one is a bit more hopeful than mine.

Nice shot Percy. Like a previous poster, I'd never seen a robin egg before either. Had no idea they're blue.
