What Is It Wednesday #37
Here's last Wednesday's picture:

what is it1

It wasn't cropped from anything, that was just the picture!

DebR got it right...she said: "The edge of a scarf made with fancy yarn!"

MB didn't get it right, she said "It's that crap in a planter. You know, geeze what is that called again???", but it did made me laugh!

So this week...
blue

what is it?

Ooh I get to be the first to guess...well my official guess is light reflected in an ice sculpture...

But I hate to say...Am I the only one who sees what appears to be a lady laying down with a look of pain on her face???

I came to visit your last TT (I know I'm a bit late), but it's no longer on the front page and I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to view your previous posts.

I can't think of anything natural that looks like this... it looks to me like a mountain range made blue and melted in photoshop.

Nice one!

Smoke

Posted by Maribeth at December 20, 2006 5:54 AM

I think MB is right it is smoke or fire through some kind of colored filter?

A piece of photo-art; no doubt

I have no idea what it is, but it's a cool pic. Maybe the blue part of a fire?

Posted by carmen at December 20, 2006 8:14 AM

it reminds me of the blue christmas lights around here.

Is it blue Christmas lights?

It makes me think of a sliced agate (sometimes these have beautiful smoky-looking patterns inside), so my guess is that it's a smoothly polished surface of cut stone. I'm not sure what it could be ON though, with that pretty, vivid blue.

Cut stone or marble

smoke!

The flame on a gas stove.

I have to go with ice. It looks too substantial to be smoke. Actually, at first I thought it was gauze or some similar fabric. But there's no weave.

Hmmm, the only thing that comes to mind is your blue Christmas lights on a very long exposure (with movement.)But that seems to obvious, so you've got me stumped this week.

A crazy closeup photo of plaque (that crap that gets on your teeth if you don't brush and floss regularly).

I'm still trying to see that woman that Amy saw...

Geeze, so much for me getting it right three weeks in a row! :-P

Ok, ok, gotta guess anyway....I'll guess a lit-up fountain at night, taken with a slightly moving camera. What...no? :-)

Posted by DebR at December 20, 2006 11:37 PM

It looks like a precious rock/crystal to me with light reflecting off it.

Although ..... I must say it does look like something where you have done a long exposure and moved the camera around -- or the object had shifted. Maybe a double exposure.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Looks like a piece of stained glass or art glass.

Bubbled or warped glass? Or ice.

Whatever, it's a cool pic. Got a larger copy? I feel some backgrounds coming on...
