NaBloPoMo #9: hhhmmmmm
I'm going to talk politics...run away!!! But come back, cause then I'm gonna talk about Lost!

When I got home from work Tuesday night, there were two empty beer bottles on the kitchen table (my precious Yuengling!!!). Now...neither Wolf nor Max has the ability to open a beer without breaking the bottle, so I figured it had to be Dad.

I said hi, walking into the living room...and he looked like his best friend had died. "Dad!", I said, "What's wrong?" His reply? "I'm watching the news, and it's not good...not good at all." You see, Dad's a Republican.

Fast forward to Wednesday night. Rinse, lather, repeat (minus empty bottles of MY damn Yuengling). He's convinced that with liberals in high places bad things will happen. I asked, "Dad...did any bad things happen with Republicans in office?" His answer? Silence. Stubborn bastid ;-)

Normally, my Dad and I are alot alike...but in this instance the apple fell far, far, FAR from the tree :-)

You Are 0% Republican
If you have anything in common with the Republican party, it's by sheer chance. You're a staunch liberal, and nothing is going to change that!
How Republican Are You?

I'm scared by people who answered even ONE thing positively in that test. *shivers*

You Are 48% Democrat
You aren't a full fledged Democrat yet, but it's likely the party that fits you best. You probably consider yourself an independent Democrat. You usually support the party, but you also think for yourself!
How Democrat Are You?

Ok, done with politics. What did you think of Lost last night? How STUPID are the others that they didn't know Jack would do what he did? Damn, Sawyer and Monica Kate are hot! He's just such an adorable badass!!! Look north? What did THAT mean? And what WAS the story Jack told Kate when they first met?

Off to walk the dog; Thursday Thirteen is below!

Tell your Dad that drinking Yuengling makes you act and think more like a "liberal"! Maybe you will scare him away from it!

LOST...... what can I say except F*CKING FEBRUARY?

Posted by Laura at November 9, 2006 7:12 AM

I am so ticked at the fact Lost is going off until February with so few episodes being shown that I may not care come February.. it wasn't that long ago when a "season" meant you got 13 of 26 episodes.. THIRTEEN! NOT 5 OR 6!

OMG! I have to wait until Feb? That's awful. But then 16 straight episodes. woo hoo.

Sawyer is h-o-t-t! Although, Kate's "husband", Nathan Fillion, is a hottie, too. I was like - hello Nathan! What'cha doin' on Lost? Oh, that's right, your great show Firefly was canceled (but the movie rocked out). Argh. He was an evil priest on Buffy's last season, too. ;)

I got the best Karl Rove quote up today, among other xrated things.

I'm happy about the election, but now the Dems are going to be held responsible for cleaning up Bush's mess like it was theres. I hope to see some investigations.

Ahhh, I'm an odd one. 56% Dem, but 14% Repub.

I have one very Republican parent and one who's very much a Democrat. I grew up being told that it's best not to discuss for whom one voted (at least at home!)

Love the question about anything bad happening!

Posted by Lisa at November 9, 2006 8:38 AM

0% Republican, 60% Dem. I beat you!

Posted by Megan at November 9, 2006 9:30 AM

I was all over the place with parties this year. I voted some Reps, some Dems, some Libs... I was really hoping for school choice down here. Kate gets all the good ones!!!

I am more Republican than Democrat, sorry Jan. I am not quite like your Dad. I feel like things have to go back and forth or why have two parties? There are good and bad parts to everything, nothing is perfect.
Ron watches Lost, not me anymore. I got "lost" a long time ago with that.
I hardly watch TV much at all, no time.

I am very liberal, myself, so while I feel sympathy for your dad I don't think I'd be able to refrain from pointing out *precisely* what sort of bad things have happened under the latest round of Republican rule. (Habeas corpus! It's called the Great Writ for a REASON! The Geneva Convention was there for a REASON! Arrrgh!)

Also: just because someone calls themselves a Republican (or a Democrat for that matter) does not mean they are good (or bad!) folk. The name is no protection and no guarantee. If someone is a dangerous sociopath, they will be a dangerous sociopath no matter what they call themselves...and if someone is a truly good person, then they will be good, whichever banner they choose to fly. Worry about the PERSON, not the party.

I think we need a new party. I came out 20% Republican and 20% Democrat on the blogthings. I guess that makes me 60% Reasonable. ;-)

Posted by jg at November 9, 2006 11:28 AM

you inspired me to write my own political post. My coming out party, if you will! 64% dem. Liberal as can be!

Posted by megan at November 9, 2006 12:29 PM

LOL...now I have to go take those quizes. As for Lost, I KNOW! And now they're making us wait until FEBRUARY for the next episode. Shit heads.

I think I was 4% republican and 60 percent democrat. I agreed with this statement: Guns don't kill - people do. But I support gun control laws so the people can't get those guns into their hands... so I guess I don't actually agree with the statement? I dunno.

That is terrible yuengling was sacrificed!! If I see you in Dec I can bring you some :)

I was disappointed by Lost to be honest, but I think I'm in a bad mindset about it. Sawyer is pretty hot though! I am hoping that the next part of the season is awesome - but we have 24 so it will be ok.

I scored 0% Republican and 72% Democrat. Bless my bleeding heart and pass the granola. I'm gonna go hug a tree! :-)

I LOVED seeing Nathan Fillion on Lost, but hate that they're taking such a long break. Sheesh!

I'm %0 Republican too! That's hysterical because MrZ and I never claim a political persuasion other than "NOT REPUBLICAN" - hehe. Also - my whole family and his (almost) are republicans...so I understand your genetics!
