It's so awesome to have friends that can do things on the spur of the moment. I'm lucky enough to have two friends like that, Megan and MaryEllen. Don't think that either one of them are not busy chicks, either. Both have 2 hour commutes each day, both have what amounts to part time jobs (Megan's got her design business, ME's a competitive ice skater), both have lots of responsibilities. But...that being said, both are also adventurous fun lovers!
So when I was invited to join some friends at their annual Florida vacation, I jumped at the chance! That they told me to invite Meg & MaryEllen made it that much sweeter!
Now...here's my question! Anyone know how to get discounted 2 or 3 day passes to the theme parks there? Ideally, I'd like to get a 3 day park hopper pass which goes for $237.00; I'd settle for a two day pass. I'll be there the beginning of December.
I'm so excited! The parks will be all gussied up for Christmas! The first and only time I've been to a theme park at Christmas time was Tokyo Disneyland Park in Japan, and it was just beautiful. Plus...they've added an animatronic Captain Jack Sparrow who speaks to the POC ride...I think I'll be taking that one a couple times. Ahem. It was always my favorite anyway: yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me!

DAMN!!! youre lucky!!!!!
The only thing I remember Disney having at Christmastime was a big tree. :)
I think you can get the park passes at disney.com.
Lucky, lucky you!
I can ask my dad about the passes- he's always been able to find discounted attractions.
Note that I will be in Gainesville, FL (~1 hr from Orlando) at the beginning of December.
How exciting! Have fun!
Yeah! Have fun. Try this site for discount tix: yeehawtravel.com.
I just tried it and it's down at the moment, but probably won't be for long.
xo
That's great! Mabye you'll see a few pink rafts there! Do you mean that you're going to Disneyland? A couple of years ago Joe and I went to St. Augustine at Christmastime and saw the Nights of Lights by horse and buggy at night! It's fun to do something different for the holidays. Get out your bikini!
I'm so happy for you :) Try AA, I think they have discounted tickets.
***someone pointed out to me that it's AAA that might have discounted tickets, unless Lauren means I need AA***

Whoo Hoo have fun! And it will be WARMER than here too!
Wooo! I've never been to Disney at Christmastime! I can't wait to get in my bathing suit and sit by the pool sipping drinks. Ohhh, there will be trouble! Lots of it!
I'm so happy for you, that's awesome! Hope the weather and everything is perfect for you.
Hmm. Sadly I do not have a hookup for discounted tickets for you...but I DO have a book you may want to invest in to recommend: The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. (amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Unofficial-Guideto-Disney-World2007-Guides/dp/047179032X/sr=8-1/qid=1162920190/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-1457860-1422245?ie=UTF8&s=books )
When my mother and sister and I went there together we brought a copy of this with us...the book includes "touring plans" which at first we thought way too restrictive for us to use, but then we tried one. Astonishingly effective - the day we hit the Magic Kingdom we had seen everything we wanted to see by lunchtime, and the rest was all icing. :)
Also, to amuse yourself while in line, etc: http://www.hiddenmickeys.org/HiddenMickey.html
There's a book for these too. :)
Sounds like a fun road trip!!
sounds like fun...I think we found some on Ebay a few years ago when we were looking at going
We go about every other year to Florida to visit relatives. Love it! We're not into Disney World because there's seperate parts so you have to pay seperate entrance fees to each. Park Hopper would be good if you've got more then one day.
Consider Universal Studios up the road too. Ryan and I had a BLAST when we went a few years ago. They also have an all new Universal park with just rides. City Walk at Universal is a must for nighttime.
Have so much fun!!
Janet, I usually go to AAA for the discounted passes also, but check the park websites, sometimes they have good deals. Sounds like an awesome trip! If you all get a chance to come over the bay area, (about an hour and a half west), let me know!!!!
What? You didn't invite Alan Rickman??? tsk tsk!
Have a fantastic time while you are there!! take lots of pictures for your journal and then post them all for us!
I don't know of any discounts other than maybe what AAA might have, but if I run across something I'll let you know. Sounds like a great time!!!
WOW! You must really rank! I haven't even gotten that invite!
Wow.. i'm going back to Fl too! Moving back. Go to this web site for discounts. http://www.discountthemeparkvacations.com/universal/?source=goto&keyword=islands+of+adventure This is the site we use when the older kids go to Orlando. I'll be back in Fl 11/13/06!!
I haven't been yet! LUCKY!!!! You're gonna have so much fun! I bookmarked a lot of the urls from your commenters for future purpose. D wants to go really bad. Me too! (-:
