NaBloPoMo #22: Flourishing
christmas cactus
I bought this Christmas cactus for my mother last year...but didn't have a chance to give it to her before she passed away.

Usually, I have a very brown thumb when it comes to indoor plants...but as you can see, this one has flourished! I thought it had died or was very close to it last spring. Instead of throwing it out, however, once it got warm enough, I just put it outside by the basil & rosemary and basically forgot about it. Imagine my shock when I noticed it had not only died, but was blooming furiously!!!

I brought it back in the house a couple of weeks ago, and repotted it yesterday. Hopefully it will survive the repotting and my brown thumb and go on to ... remain a living memory.

Yeah for the Christmas Cactus. They can look pretty down and out the rest of the year but they always seem to perk up and become pretty around this time!

I've never had much luck with Christmas Cactuses (Cacti?), though I love them. I think I give them TOO much attention.
