Letter tag

This how it works: TNChick gave me the letter "C"; I'll write ten words beginning with "C" (what fun!). When you leave a comment on this entry, I'll give YOU a letter (if you want to play) and then you post this in your blog...and so on and so on :-)

1. Camera: Of course, my list of Cs would have to start with this. It's my passion, my outlet, it's something I can't ever imagine not doing...and it's FUN! Ironically...my favorite brand of camera over the years has been Canon.
2. Cancer: Awhile back, I had an appointment with the dermatologist to get a teensy little patch of skin on my arm (right under my cherry blossom tattoo!!) checked out. I heard from the dermatologist today; not entirely good news, but not really bad, either. It's squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), which is the second most common skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma is the first). No big deal though, they just scrap it off and then cauterize the area. No cutting off of the arm required...(see picture below...it's the red spot)
3. Chocolat, cafe-creme, crepes and Champs Elysees: Things I enjoyed in Paris!
4. Cemetary: I really like exploring cemetaries, so quiet and peaceful!
5. Clams: AKA steamahs...with an ice cold beah...a delicious New England summertime meal!
6. Cousins: I have two that I love, MB & Mel!
7. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: The closest I've gotten yet to seeing what Johnny Depp would look like as a vampire!
8. Chamber (of Secrets): I think this was my favorite Harry Potter movie so far. MMMmmm, Lord Voldemort was a hottie when he was young!
9. Celebrity crush: What I have on Johnny Depp, Viggo Mortensen and Professor Snape (well, technically, I guess, Snape is a character crush)!
10. Cooking: It's a passion of mine; it never bores me and the only thing I dislike about it is cleaning up the pots, pans & dishes!!

I swear, it was more difficult choosing just these 10 then thinking UP 10! I think I thought of at least 25 and pared it down.

Bad, mean cancer!

Sorry to hear about that report on your arm, but so glad that it is easily fixed up! Thanks for the little "cousin" mention! Means so much!

When do you get it taken off? Hubby had a squama cell cancer on his hand. They removed it and he's been fine since. I told him it was that cheap Irish skin! (LOL)
So what's your excuse? I know in this family we only have high quality skin!

Hey Janet,
Well, I'm sorry that your spot needs care, but glad it's something relatively easy to care for. I've got a trip to the dermatologist planned the week I get back from the trip. He'll probably scold me for being sunburned.

I want to play, but I won't be able to until I return. Would that be too late?

nah! I'm so excited for you going on this trip! Oh, and I'm giving you "E" for Egypt! - Janet

Sure, play for her, but not me. *pouts*

Welcome to the cancer club! I just had the same kind scraped off my back. We can compare scars.

Actually, I'm going to have my husband take a picture of mine for Wordless Wednesday someday soon.

Any lettters left? I will get my post up by the end of the day! Ohhh this is fun.
p.s. bad bad cancer - glad you are getting it taken care of. How did you figure out what it was initially?

I give you the letter A, for that horrible author you like (I'm kidding, I like him too!) - Janet

Posted by Michelle at May 23, 2006 10:10 AM

Glad to hear that your arm isn't serious and you spotted it early. "Bad...Bad...cancer"

At least it's not in the area of your cool tattoo...:-))

racer x: Hmmmmm....so what letter do I get?
me: hmmmm...how about "O" ;-)
racer x: Hmmmmmmmmmm..."O", now that's a tough letter, even for Webster...LOL :-)

1) Othello - It's a black and white kind of thing..:-)
2) Oxygen - A good thing to have
3) Ocean - I love the ocean... especially the Pacific.
4) Orange - Mmmmm, good for juice or frosting on carrot cake
5) Organized - The anal engineering planner in me..LOL
6) Observant - I try to be perceptive, using all the senses
7) Orbit - Good for a space shuttle or my favorite gum as the case may be..:-)
8) Original - I like to think I'm somewhat original..."what you see is what you get" LOL
9) Opportunity - I believe "good luck" is where opportunity and preparation come together
10) Obsolagnium - Something that I definitely don't have...I figured I'd give you one challenge word to see if you know what it means without having to peek [which I didn't lol, I totally had to look it up]...ROFLMAO

me: very good! I'm sensing a theme, re: #9 ;-) and #10, especially after I found out what obsolagnium meant! Trying to tell me something?

Posted by racerx_86 at May 23, 2006 12:31 PM

Sorry about the cancer though I'm thrilled that it was no big deal!

Posted by Carl V. at May 23, 2006 2:34 PM

Ack about the cancer, but it's good that it's something they can deal with easily.

I'll play too, if you haven't run out of letters. :)

I'm giving you the letter "N"! - Janet

Posted by Lisa at May 23, 2006 5:37 PM

Oh, Dang. Sorry to hear it is a baddie red mark, but relieved that you can just scrape the sucker off.

I guess I'l play the letter game too, if there are any letters left. You better have saved me "D" for Depp, since you so pimped out "J" for Johnny already, LOL!!!!

ok, girlie girl, you have "D"! - Janet
