What Is It Wednesday #65

Here's last Wednesday's picture:

whatisit4

And this is what it was cropped from:

The absolutely funniest comment was from Lisa: "I'd like to say it's a display of pickle-shaped vibrators at a sex shop you visited in Vegas, but that would be vulgar, right? ;-)Oh, what the hell-- I'm saying it! She was also the first to get it right: "But of course, it's a nasty pickle. I hates me some pickles, but I know you love them."

As always, thanks for playing! By the way, all photos used in What Is It Wednesday are marked as "private" in my flickr account...that's so no one can view the picture at a bigger size to get a better look!

So this week...

You know me, I always think of food. I think it looks like the bottom of a waffle cone!

I have no idea whatsoever. My first thought was a cork of some kind but it's not the right shape. Miniature umbrella top view? Like one of those that comes in a cocktail?

I have a 'hunch' that it is used for juicing. Hold the other bulbous end in you palm, half a citrus in the other, and push and rotate...
Is this right??
Happy 4th July over there, nothing much happening here in Sydney AU today, just another day at work!

I think Julie is right about the top view of an umbrella for a drink...is she???

Hello. Michele sent me. I have no idea what it is. Although it looks to be wood, and possibly cut in half. I too, am fond of the beach.

It's wood. Is that specific enough? LOL. I am going to say it is a wooden herb crusher.

Is that a dried starflower photographed with a macro lens?

It's a stumper, that's for sure.

At first I thought it was the end of a pencil, but I have never seen a pencil with that shape - if I had I would want it. Now, that I have read the comments I would like to borrow burntofferings "hunch" about the juicer - although, little wooden juicers tend to have a pointed end. So.... could I just nod my head in agreement with whoever actually guesses this correctly? Yes, that sounds good...I think it is whatever the person who guess correctly thought it was? What is that cheating? Please say no.

I'm going with the paper umbrella suggestion. But whatever it is, it's a cool picture.

It's a kitchen gadget of some sort. I can picture in my mind exactly what the whole thing looks like but can't think what it IS.

Ok, just skimmed through the other answers and I think burntofferings is right - juicer.

It looks most like one of those little umbrellas. It also looks kind of like a lamp finial or a wooden thingie on a chair. But most like a little umbrella.

A honet dipper, seen from the bottom up?

Posted by Dyane at July 4, 2007 2:09 PM

It looks like some kind of carved wood.

Posted by goofy girl at July 4, 2007 2:47 PM

It is the end of a seed pod.

Happy 4th everyone
