Thursday Thirteen #67

Thirteen Things I love that begin with the letter M

1. Mom, MB, Mel, Megan, MaryEllen, Michelle, Michele, Michele A., Monique, Melissa, Miss Zoot: Some of my favorite people whose names or blognames begin with the letter M!

2. Michael: My first real love.

3. Macaroni and cheese: Only by Kraft...but a damn close runner up is Cobblestone's! Yum!

4. Malted milk balls: My favorite candy in the Easter basket!

5. Making out: With the right person...heaven!

6. Mandala: I love circles!

7. Maple: Trees, candy, syrup, the scent...LOVE it!

8. Mardi Gras: Never been; always wanted to!

9. Magic: This word makes you look at things from a different angle. It's not a humdrum 9-5 word, is it?

10. Marshmallows: Burnt black, please!

11. Massage: So calming, so relaxing...I need one!

12. Meadow: This word conjures up long green grass, blowing in the wind...some flowers, blue skies...ahhhhh

13. Misty Mountain Hop: My very favorite Led Zeppelin song:

So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains
Where the spirits go now,
Over the hills where the spirits fly

A nice list, and I agree with most of them. Never had a massage, though.

Posted by Donna W at May 9, 2007 11:15 PM

Many magnificent things! :D Except for malt balls, those things are seriously awful. ;)

Posted by goofy girl at May 9, 2007 11:16 PM

Michelle sent me... :)

PS. How'd you get that fun thing that enters your name for the Thursday Thirteen? :)

Posted by Humor Girl at May 9, 2007 11:28 PM

I love my marshmellows burnt too!! Great M list! I am enjoying this alphabet TT!

Happy TT!

I dated a Michael once, but I can't say he was my first love.. now, when you get to "N" I'll have a name for you ;)

I've always been fond of Mortuary since watching a Rikki Fulton sketch (Scotch & Wry) years ago. "Oh, I'm in the mortuary. I must be deid..."

Sorry, flashbacks from childhood. Sometimes they can't be controlled!

Marvelous! many magic memories...
happy TT!

I SWEAR to god I did not read your list before I did mine - I completely pikced "M" as a random letter! We are alike today! Happe Thursday!

Mist. I love mist. So promising and comforting.

Miracles. They still happen.

Posted by Babystepper at May 10, 2007 10:14 AM

Michael is a gorgeous name for a first love. And making out is heavenly. And marshmallows...mmm.

Making out with Michael after eating marshmallows -- priceless!

Posted by Finn at May 10, 2007 10:17 AM

Mac and cheese is one of the best things!! And I like the things that come to mind with "meadow."

Posted by Barbara H. at May 10, 2007 10:18 AM

marshmellows, malt balls and mac & cheese - three of my least favorite things - sorry! Maybe i'm just not a "m" person. Wait - i love me some M&Ms and making out and mandellas and OF COURSE mom.

Posted by rhian at May 10, 2007 10:31 AM

That cracks me up that you like Kraft mac and cheese. I don't know what possessed me but I made some earlier this week. My favorite of the boxed variety is Annie's Organic shells with Vermont cheddar. Yum!

I absolutely love maple syrup! It has to be the real deal; I hate the fake stuff. We used to take field trips in elementary school to a maple syrup farm. I’d buy a bottle and drink right from it on the bus ride back to school.

Gee, I'm hungry now...

Posted by Lisa at May 10, 2007 10:31 AM

Yet another awesome list, Janet! And I also love my marshmallows burnt black! Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside!

And I'm dying for a massage now, too! :P

Happy TT!

Really? Number two? Me too.

I so need a massage!

Aren't all Led Zepp songs your fave???

I moved my blog to a new home!

I have been trying all day to comment on the 11,000 post. So I am putting it here:

I tried to comment on this post this morning. But the comment guru did not like me. So much for being the 11,000th commenter ;)

I don't need a gift, but if you insist. How about a picture of your choice. I love flowers.

Posted by Nancy at May 10, 2007 1:54 PM

I'm in on malted milk balls and maple. And Patti LaBelle's Over the Rainbow Mac and Cheese is the best recipe around

Posted by Diane at May 10, 2007 3:03 PM

Massages ARE Magic :)

Lovely list.

Posted by MissMeliss at May 10, 2007 3:27 PM

So many great things - Mac & Cheese, Malt Balls, Marshmellows, Massages - I'd have to add M&Ms and Music to the list though. :-)

Posted by L-Squared at May 10, 2007 3:54 PM

Magnificent M's You Marvelously Masterful Mmmm... blogger? :) I don't guess mlogger rolls quite the same way.

heheh, making out with the right person is definitely a good thing. Mardi Gras is awesome. You should go... I only like marshmellows if they are mixed with rice crispies and butter... or if they are toasty brown right off a fire :)

Posted by rashenbo at May 10, 2007 4:49 PM

Great list! Magic being the best word, although mom is also a winner.
Thanks for visiting my food TT!

Posted by Tink at May 10, 2007 6:21 PM

Nice one. Marshmallows....

Pardon my drool.

Happy TT! (I don't feel well; more later)

Very creative list! I love mac and cheese...maybe even more than my kids! lol!

Posted by Jenny-up the hill at May 10, 2007 7:39 PM

I am cooking Kraft Mac & Cheese right now! My husband's name is Michael, and my middle name starts with M. I remember the Alphabet People(?) in gradeschool and Mr. M was my favorite.

Posted by Amy the Black at May 10, 2007 8:28 PM

I just came to say MMMMMMOON.

Posted by colleen at May 10, 2007 10:18 PM

Mmm, I could use a massage too! ;)

Hey, I make pretty damn good mac & cheese myself. ;) Homemade is awfully yummy if you put the right seasonings in and don't overcook the macaroni.

Well I just read somewhere else that it irks you when people link but don't comment. So here's a comment, just so you don't get irked.
My comment is - Bring Back Percy!

:)

Thought of you last night when I saw on Entertainment Tonight that your main man Johnny is on the cover of People (or is it EW) this weekend for the opening of number 3 in a few weeks! How many copies will you be buying?
