Thursday Thirteen #62

Thirteen Things I love that begin with the letter H

1. Home: While I might not like the house, I love the warm, comfortable feeling I have at home.

2. Halloween: My favorite holiday!!

3. Happy: There is no better feeling than being happy!

4. Hawaii: A beautiful place to visit

5. Heart: My very first tattoo was a home made heart on my right forearm...I got it because I was always "wearing my heart on my sleeve"

6. Hands: I love looking at (and photographing!) people's hands!

7. Herbs: Love to grow them and use them while I'm cooking

8. Hieroglyphs: A form of writing that uses pictures!

9. Hark, The Herald Angels Sing: One of my most favorite Christmas carols

10. Honey: Love the taste, smell and look of it!

11. Heroes: My new favorite tv show!

12. Happenstance: A chance circumstance...I like the sound of that!

13. Huckleberry Finn (The Adventures of): An amazing book, published in 1884 after The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. It's known for many things, including "...its sober and often scathing look at entrenched attitudes, particularly racism, of the time".

I have heard good things about Heroes, hope to watch the reruns this spring.
Thanks for stopping by.

I really do like your template, very stylish.

Honey. What everyone called my grandmother. She was always Grandma Honey.

I couldn't get into Heroes. Should I give it another chance?

Posted by Stacy at April 4, 2007 9:41 PM

YAY! Someone else that absolutely adores Halloween. I almost got married on Halloween just to have a Halloween themed wedding. I was planning on dressing up like Morticia and Gomez Addams during the reception, hubby and everyone didn't go for that. Shucks darn.

Great list, thanks for dropping by mine.

Happy TT!

A great list of H words! Home, Happy, Heart and Heroes are my very favorites.

Happy TT, and thanks for visiting my blog!

I liked this entry - short and pithy and yet told volumes about you. Good work, girly! (I'm stealing it)

Thanks for stopping by casa de Snark! :) Have a good thursday.

One of my favorite pictures is of my infant hand, holding my mom's ring finger. My dad took it and he won an award with it.

If we ever meet, I'll let you take pictures of my hands. Hands are cool things.

Happy TT!

I love hands too! In fact, when I was single (ahem), one of the first things I'd look at when checking out a guy was his hands. And not just for a wedding ring!
Something about long tapered fingers, non-hairy knuckles, maybe a callus from the hard manly work... Oh my, I'm getting myself worked up *fanning*

i'm having the hardest time growing herbs from seeds. they live in the windowsill, sprout up like mad, then crash and die overnight. i'm not sure what i do wrong since i have a green thumb with grown up plants. but i agree with you, a great h thing

happy TT

Great list! We love Heroes, too. And I love what you said about home -- I don't like my house, either, and haven't since the week we moved in, but we haven't been able to move yet. But I do like "coming home."

Hands, eh? Trust me, you don't want to see mine. Corpse hands. It's genetic.

Thanks for visiting me :)

I can't believe Harry Potter did not make the H list or Hermione or Having Michelle as a friend (LOL). Great list. Have a great weekend!

Posted by Michelle at April 5, 2007 7:35 AM

A positive vibe comes from 'H'...symetrical, upstanding, and looks ready to embrace...great selection :-)

Posted by Tilly Greene at April 5, 2007 7:53 AM

Hawaii, hands and honey would top my list. Hawaii is a great place to live too! ;-) I think hands are so expressive and I loved your recent photo set of hands. I just had some milk and honey last night before going to bed. Delicious!

Posted by Lisa at April 5, 2007 8:04 AM

great H list...

I feel the same way about Home......might not like the "house" itself....but the feeling in it is cozy and warm and thats what makes a "home"

Posted by Laura at April 5, 2007 8:18 AM

LOL I'm with Michelle. After reading the list I had to scan it again to make sure I believed my eyes that Harry wasn't on there.

Cheers on Happenstance and Halloween.

Great idea for a list! I'll have to steal it sometime. :-)

I mailed your ARC yesterday. Hope you enjoy all the Sebastian page time.

And I loved Huck Finn too. Loved that book. And also agree with you on the herbs. Favorite herb to cook with? Basil and cilantro for me....you?

Posted by Colleen Gleason at April 5, 2007 9:38 AM

I love tea with honey. :) And I can't wait for Heros to return!

Posted by carmen at April 5, 2007 10:01 AM

Oh how I'd love to get to Hawaii some day...

Happy TT.

Number 5 is really sweet! :-) I know another H. ;-)

I love Heros too, Paul and I have been watching it. :)

I've never grown herbs before but am interested. What is a good beginner one to grow?

Posted by goofy girl at April 5, 2007 10:15 AM

it would be fun to work your way through the whole alphabet, but the x might be a problem:

King Xerxes was an interest fellow?

A skeleton suit very cool!

Ya, I so wished I got married on Halloween. I was going to make masks for everyone and dance to the Monster Mash and MJ's Thriller. Alas I could not. Again Great TT!

Posted by Amy Ruttan at April 5, 2007 11:19 AM

Love your list! I'm big fan of "Heroes" too. Can't believe we have to wait for little while longer until it come back *pout*, but I be waiting...

Happy T13!

Posted by Julia at April 5, 2007 2:38 PM

Happenstance a word that should be used more.

Posted by Mark Caldwell at April 5, 2007 5:04 PM

Lovely "H" things. :) I especially appreciate your #1 -- I live in an apt after leaving a brand new house during divorce. I despise apartment living, and long to have a house again, but I *do* like the happy feeling of "being home". I guess we all have to bloom where we're planted. :) Happy Easter.

Posted by Nancy Bond at April 5, 2007 5:27 PM

I love honey and I love fresh garden herbs.
Great list!

Posted by Tori at April 5, 2007 6:20 PM

Check out my Thursday Thirteen
