chocolate and stress and hospitals, oh my

365/54, all gone
Day 54 from Project 365; salty chocolate - man, was it good!

Things have been a bit stressful lately; Dad blacked out or fainted in the bathroom Thursday and came to on the floor...where he stayed for 4 or 5 hours until I came home from work. Apparently, he didn't have the strength to get up. Of course, I ended up working late that night and didn't get home til 7, and even then didn't know he was on the floor til I heard a repeated banging noise.

I helped him up and put him in bed. He slept for a few hours and when he woke up, I gave him something to eat, as he probably hadn't eaten since noon time.

Took off the next day from work to keep an eye on him, all the while trying to talk him into going to the ER just to get checked out.

Saturday, Michelle came over for a bit so I could take a shower; I was afraid to leave him alone. My brother came by, too, and finally convinced Dad to go to the ER. They went around 3; after waiting there three hours, he was finally seen. They did blood tests, urine tests, an EKG and a CAT scan...only thing they found was a UTI, but I think the fact that he blacked out and didn't remember it prompted them to admit him.

Yesterday, they were concerned that he seemed a bit out of it (which is kinda normal for Dad) and so did an MRI. Haven't got the results yet, and he's still in the hospital.

So, yeah...I needed some chocolate.

Holy crap, hon! I hope your dad is ok. And you too. Is it time to go back to Harvard Square for more chocolate?

I hope everything turns out OK with your dad. Can you sneak Max in to see him?

Oh man... sorry to hear about that, Janet. You definitely need more chocolate! It's so hard to get them to go to the ER at that age!! arrgh. Hope things turn out OK for him also.

That's so terrible, I'm sorry for your father's trouble & hope he will be ok soon. How stressful for you too! You deserve the chocolate. I worry about my mother often but she is stubborn & will not move from her apartment to Virginia where I own my home.

Ack! I hope he's OK. And I hope you are too. ((hugs))

Janet, I'm sending you virtual hugs. I had a friend go through this with her dad, and I saw first hand how stressful it is. Eat some chocolate and feel better. :)

I hope you get the MRI results back soon, waiting is the pits. Don't beat yourself up about this, there is no way you could have known he had fallen. He's just lucky to have you! Remember to take care of yourself too through all this stress and if you haven't already, eat some chocolate. :Hugs:

Any news today. I just got home from PT and I need to cook dinner. Then I'll call him.

Eee. Oh, my goodness.

I'm not sure what that sounds like, but...I hope he turns out to be okay. It's a sad thing to have someone you love in the hospital for any reason other than a new baby coming. :(

Positive vibes and best wishes to you both! (and I'd send chocolate, if I could.)

P.S. That salty goodness looks so yummy!

I sure hope the doctors are able to find some answers and help your Dad. I call MRIs the donut ride...it's like placing yourself inside a big noisy donut. I hope everything comes out okay - I am praying for you both.

Bad week for you!!!!! *hug*

May I offer you a Payday Avalanche, or a Reeces FastBreak by any chance? *offering one or both to you, to help your stress*

Any results yet from the testing they did?
