Had dinner at The Burren last night with Pat (shepherd's pie and guinness, YUM!); then we headed over to see the movie, Venus, at the Capitol in Arlington. A fantastic movie, go see it if you have the chance. At first it made me laugh, but by the end, oh how sad. Beautiful, tho!
I don't know whether this theater has recently changed hands or what, but the last two movies I've seen there, the sound has sucked bullocks. And last night there were people walking in and out, in and out...very distracting. Think I'll stick to the Somerville Theater from now on.

its 12 here with a wind chill of zero!
and....so far all flights are delayed up to 1 1/2 hours DAMMIT!
It's crazycold. Neat photo!
ok, so completely unrelated, but have you ever been to one of those old - style "movie palace" type theatres? The ones that are usually from the 1920s and are full of beautiful architectural love and usually done in the style of an imaginary version of a place we might vaguely know?
I love those. If I ever own a town I shall mandate that all cinemas must be constructed in that fashion.
It looks like an animal. I can see ears and a rabbit nose. Brrr! It does look cold!
It's forecast to be 31C (87F) here today. Just thought I'd share that with you ;)
The lack of manners in cinemas is one of my big gripes - some people just have no idea of how to behave in public.
The ice animal is a wombat!
Much as I love winter, I am so glad that spring is in the air and it is warming up here.
Terrible theatre sound really does suck, doesn't it. Having amazing sound is a huge part of the theatrical experience.
Very cool ice formation!
I've been wanting to see Venus too. I have one theater here that I love to go to- they serve good food and quality wine and liquor that you can take with you into the movie. And they have good sound. My kind of place, fo' sure!
Nice Ice Puppy!
I am so, so behind in my movie watching. One thing i was thinking of doing (thanks to Julia Cameron) is making a date with myself every other week to see a movie. After spending so much time in the theater and then actually working in movie theater during my college days, I find that it's a personal release that I've been denying myself for too many years.
If you could recommend one movie right now as THE one to see, which would it be?
LOL...I have a one track mind...good thing you didn't ask what is it ;)
Very cool ice sculpture - it looks like a squirrel head!
today was a little bit warmer... but i did read about the guys on top of Mt. Washington throwing boiling water in the air and making snow! pretty cool!
Hi, that's my cat. How come? You again, brrr.
PS. I have a movie theatre much closer - here in Oslo:))
