1. My absolute favorite is Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Hot & sexy Depp at his best!


2. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. I know it didn't get good reviews, but I really don't know why! I loved Bill Nighy as Davy Jones! His mannerisms just cracked me up.


3. Finding Neverland. The man should've won an Oscar for this...he was so damn good in this movie!


4. Dead Man. I saw this on tv one day...and was entranced. Not for everyone, tho!


5. From Hell: Johnny on opium...chasing a murderer...in England...ahhhh


6. Chocolat. Yum!


7. Don Juan DeMarco: Quirky and loveable


8. Edward Scissorhands: Amazing the people this guy has worked with...Vincent Price was awesome!


9. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: I didn't see the original, plus my second ex LOVED the original so I had no problem with this remake.


10. Nick of Time. With Christopher Walken!


11. Sleepy Hollow. Again with a very scary Mr. Walken.


12. The Ninth Gate. Filmed in France! With Frank Langella, who was QUITE sexy back in the day as Dracula.


13. What's Eating Gilbert Grape. More quirky and loveable.

Great list of movies. I'm not sure what my fav of his is. He was great in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape."

I'm not the huge Depp fan you are - though I do enjoy his work. I liked Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, for a few reasons: 1) while I like the Gene Wilder version, it's a musical, and those make my teeth itch; and 2) Roald Dahl was a twisted individual, so it's very apropos that Burton would make a movie based on his writing.

I haven't seen the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I'll have to give it a watch, though.

I *loved* Neverland and the first Pirates of the Caribbean. I did my Thursday Thirteen on my favorite movies, too. (In general, though.)

I really liked finding neverland, I thought it was going to be too cheesy but I ended up really liking it.

I LOVE Nick of Time. Have you seen The Man Who Cried? He plays a gypsy and I count it among my all time favorite movies.

I completely agree about Finding Neverland! That movie was excellent! I loved him in Secret Window and He is so delicious in Chocolat. Can't never go wrong with Depp!

I am fan of Pirates and Finding Neverland though I like his Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I am still a bit more partial to the first one. :)

I always wondered what book the Ninth Gate was based off of. I've tried pausing the DVD and reading it on the screen by the typing is so small I can never make it out. If you know I'd love you forever for the title...

According to imdb Ninth Gate is based on the novel El Club Dumas by Arturo Perez-Reverte.

i hate to point this out, but didn't you list ALL of his movies here? ;) he he. I don't think you've met a Depp movie you didn't like.

Yes, finding Neverland was , I think, his best ever movie!

Johnny is a freaking amazing actor. Not sure anyone can pull off that variety with such success. I'm a huge POTC fan. He's SOOO Jack Sparrow!

I loved the first Pirates movie and Finding Neverland and Nick of Time. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the second Pirates were ok. I've seen parts of a couple of the others and none of the rest. I definitely want to see Sleepy Hollow some day.

Oh, and did you know he's in A Nightmare on Elm Street too? He's Nancy's boyfriend, and he is barely recognizable (to me at least.) Even Johnny Depp had a "gawky teenaged boy" period!

My favorite on the list was Nick of Time! You didn't like Ben and Junie...or whatever the name was? Maybe it's number 14 on your list.

I LOVE Pirates of the Caribbean! The second one wasn't as good simply because they concentrated more on CGI, than character building. However, I enjoyed the movie very much. I agree with you, Bill Nighy's mannerisms were mesmerizing... quite creative of him, eh?

Finding Neverland - A wonderful movie. I agree with you on the Oscar part, too.

Chocolat was fun.

Don Juan DeMarco was much better than I expected. It's one of those 'feel good' movies that stay with you for a long time to come.

Edward Scissorhands - Magical and bittersweet. Loved it, too.

The only one in your list that I haven't see is "Dead Man". I'll have to check it out. What's not to love about Johnny Depp--the man is an amazing actor.

I loved watching him in Edward Scissorhands. The look in his eyes. I haven't seen a LOT of the movies that you mentioned and should definitely check it out. Loved From Hell too; made me want some opium. lol

I loved both "Pirates" movies. Depp is BRILLIANT as Jack Sparrow. I have not seen all the movies you mentioned though.

Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors as well. I loved him in the first Pirates of the Caribbean but didn't get the chance of the second one.
