Snippets from the weekend...
Are you KIDDING me???! Heroes is back tonight...but on at the SAME TIME as 24! That's just not fair, man, not fair at all.

Grrrrr...

Michelle, I'll be watching 24, and tivoing Heroes, so feel free to IM me when you get excited!

Who said IT guys aren't observant? I got new glasses yesterday and wore them to a Pampered Chef party at a friend's house. No one mentioned the new glasses...and yes, I'm aware that it might be because they didn't like them...but I don't see them every day like I do the guys in IT...still...we KNOW guys aren't all that observant...

I get to work this morning, one of the IT guys pokes his head in my office to ask about moving my computer to the new office.

Him: new glasses?
me: yup
him: nice, I like 'em. So when do you want your computer moved?

LOL!

Boneheaded thing I did this weekend: Well, I did a few, but this one takes the cake. I'm walking around the mall after dropping my car off for a LONG overdue oil change (MB tell Jack to stop laughing). A friend calls on my cell phone...but I can't hear her. So I try to hang up...can't...and end up powering off the phone. Turn it back on, call her back...can't hear her. So I'm freaking out, thinking my phone is broken. I text her and tell her sorry I can't hear her and take my phone to the Verizon store in the mall.

Anyone want to guess what happened? Hmmm...I think I'll LET you guess, and whoever guesses correctly...or with the funniest answer, will win a BPAL Imp when they finally arrive!

Have at it!

What else...Friday I looked at getting a new phone; I BADLY want the Blackberry Pearl. My contract with Verizon is up in September...so I guess I'll wait...if I can manage it.

Saturday Megan & Lauren helped me move into my new office...and move all the rest of the crap I had accumulated over the 10 years here into my storage facility. Thanks, girls! That night my friend Diane & I saw the movie Notes On A Scandal; it made me sad, but it was a damn good movie. Judi Dench & Cate Blanchett (and Bill Nighy, for that matter) were awesome! We saw the movie in Framingham, and it was so crowded we had to park across the street...it was also DAMN cold, and my lungs were frozen and aching when we finally made it inside. Finally gave Diane her Christmas gift!

Sunday I exchanged Christmas gifts with my friend Mo, and we had breakfast at the Owl Diner...yummy! Was wandering around Target later that day and saw some pretty gift cards. I thought...hmmm...those are SO cute, who can I buy one...for...OMG! Zoot had given me the gift of extending my Pro account at Flickr for Christmas. I was going to purchase a frame from Target for her, but we talked about it and I was going to send her a Target gift card instead of mailing the frame...IN December ... for Christmas ... Zoot, expect some mail REAL soon! I am SO sorry, my brain just isn't functioning!!!

I HATE when someone in this office effing crunches lifesavers...STOPIT! Like fingernails on a chalkboard, it is.

Finally...a pic from last Friday morning...

bunny prints
I love looking at pawprints in freshly fallen snow! These were going across my driveway into the neighbor's yard...it's fun to see what's out there, you know?

Ummm.. did you have the phone on mute? *L*

Posted by Dyane at January 22, 2007 11:01 AM

Oh dear.. my guess is that you have a flip phone and that you opened it upside down and were trying to hear through the end you normally talk through. *sympathy*

If it'll make you feel better, I can tell you about the time I apparently (and incorrectly) thought it perfectly reasonable that my cell phone belonged in the toilet. *smile*

MUTE BUTTON!!!

Im exhausted just reading this....going to take a nap now.

I can't say, because you already told me. And I don't think that's the silliest thing you've ever done. And for the record it took me a 0.00000000000001 seconds to notice the new glasses.

Blackberry pearl huh? You only want that cause it's piratey.

Hey...just stopping in to say hey. So, Hey!

New glasses....I need some real bad. Mine are...uhm....from the 80's...like Sally Jessy whateverherface is. Well, I did have a pair that I wore in the early 90's....ala John Lennon. But they bit the dust.

I can't imagine.... maybe you had the sound turned way down or you didn't put your bluetooth/handsfree device in your ear( I do that all the time).

Guys aren't observant? Hey, I resemble that remark. :) Actually I think I'm pretty observant overall.

Did everyone see Notes on a Scandal this weekend? LOL! Glad it was good, I've heard nothing but positive reviews.

Glad you had a nice weekend.

Does it have something to do with Ron Livingston showing up and protecting you from meteors? (I love those sprint commercials)

See, this is why i can never get into 24, it's always on opposite of something else. :)

I'm guessing the volume got turned down, or the mute button got hit, in the flurry of shutting - down activity.

I love Judi Dench. She has such...such...gravitas.

And I totally agree with you about crunching lifesavers. That makes my teeth hurt just thinking about it!

Thanks for the well-wishes today. :) Makin' the rounds for visits and linkage now that I am a little more alert!

I'm going to say that you have a flip phone and was talking on the wrong end??? I've done that before...

Posted by amy at January 22, 2007 3:39 PM

I think you were holding the phone upside down! LOL

Judi Dench is fantastic. I've heard nothing but great things about that movie- it's a must-see.

I too say you were holding the phone wrong end up...I did the opposite at a mall in Vegas. I was wondering around waiting for my friend to have lunch with me - so I decided to call my mom to update her about my car problem and whoops I turned on speakerphone and could NOT for the life of me figure out how to turn it off! It was quite embarassing but I bucked up and walled up to the verizon kiosk...and the guy didn't even bat an eye as he showed me the button with the speaker on it that couldn't have been any closer it would have bitten my ear.

I will be watching 24 - just walked in the door from work :( grabbing ceral and hunkering down. Can't wait to see the new glasses! Let's make a date.

Posted by Michelle at January 22, 2007 7:38 PM

Your welcome! i hope you like your new digs. I can't wait to see your new specks!

Posted by Lauren at January 22, 2007 9:23 PM

I want to see a photo of the new glasses!

About the phone, my real guess would be that the volume was turned down (or off) but since that's been said a half-dozen times I'll change my guess and say that you didn't actually grab your phone at all. It rang and you reached down without looking and grabbed, um...let's see...a mini-camera! Yeah, that's it...you were trying to talk into a mini digicam while the phone was still in your purse. Or maybe it was a shoe. Shoe, camera, phone...who can tell the difference! :-D

okay, i noticed the glasses but having not seen you since like last month i didn't know of their newness... they rock, btw.

i can't guess on the phone, cuz you already told me the reason, though i can tell you that i've done sorta the same thing in the car...

when should we do harry potter day and who's coming?

We've got all the 24s on the DVR. Still waiting for a chance to watch. From the very beginning. ::uggh::

I don't have a cell; when I see them they look so confusing.
