Mel's second Halloween story

Here is Part I of the second Halloween story my cousin, Mel, wrote for my blog:

storm3

I was sitting in my office, playing on the computer, which is what I normally do, when I heard a knock at the window. I went to turn around to see, but then thought...we're FIVE floors up! What could be knocking, and a bit insistently, too, at MY window???

I couldn't help myself, I had to look and see who was knocking on my window way up here.

I was so amazed when I turned and saw that bumping against the window was not a person but a large box wrapped up in white paper with a red bow.

It was hanging from a rope that was tied around it and the wind was blowing it and making it hit, hit, hit so it sounded like knocking.

I ran to the window, opened it and lifted the box inside, undid the rope from around the box, threw the rope back outside and closed the window.

Now should I open it...I had to, so I pulled off the bow and tore away the wrapping paper. With that done the box opened up all by itself and a steamy cloud of glittering rainbow dust flew up dancing in the air all around me.

What happened next was even more amazing!
