Wolf as a baby...c'mon, you know you want to say awwwwwwww!

I was thinking today how different Max and Wolf are personality-wise, but I guess it gives me the best of both worlds.

Max LOVES to snuggle and cuddle, but he can be grumpy and growly sometimes (not snappish, tho!) and he's almost never needy. There's nothing he loves more than to runrunrun in the woods! He's great off the leash, and I never worry about him running away.

Wolf is perpetually happy, but he can be quite demanding sometimes [Wolfdude, Lost is on, I'm not going to play tug of war with you; here, have a treat and leave me ALONE!]. He's not a snuggly type dog; the one exception is first thing in the morning. When he realizes I'm awake, he waits to be invited onto the bed (usually; if he gets impatient, he'll let out a short, sharp bark, which of course wakes me up), leans his body into mine and gives me lots of kisses (his nickname then is "kissy boy, you're a kissy shiba, yes you are!"). I wish he could be trusted off leash, I'd LOVE to see him run through the fields, but alas...I'm wicked paranoid about him running away. I do use a 20 foot lead on him tho, so he can kind of run :-)

That is a really adorable picture. How big is Wolf now? I saw a Shiba on Animal planet and it looked smaller than I thought shibas were.

Oh that is SO cute. I have not seen that photo before. I saw two shibas today when I picked up Marley too! Shibas are coming out of the woodwork these days!
