Favorite Creperie
This was my favorite place to grab a crepe in all of Paris! On the way back from or to a bar, it's perfect for a quick fromage y jambon, oishii! It's located in the Latin Quarter...on a side street, not far from the Metro stop!

honey
And cause you couldn't really SEE food in the above picture, here's a shot of nature's perfect food; honey! This is a small stand I see from time to time when I take the dogs to walk in the woods in Carlisle. The man leaves a box on the stand, you pay for the honey, take change if you need it and go on your way. It's damn good, too!

Wow, now that either requires a lot of faith, or he is keep a low budget on his overhead. lol If the honor system works that is truly wonderful! :)

Crepes! I love them. The salty ones are called galettes where we spend our winter vacation in France. The honey stand is precious!
Happy saturday and bon appetit!

Oh! Oh! That Boulangerie was not even 2 blocks from our us in Paris - we stopped there on the way to the Metro in the mornings!

Carlisle sounds like a wonderful place if the honour system works that well.

Great photos! Mine's up. Happy Saturday!

Ooo Paris! You have had that on your mind recently!!

I don't like real honey. Is that strange? I've even had honey fresh from a hive my neighbors had and it tastes to weird to me. But I want a hive someday, I think they are really cool!!

Love the honey stand. There is/was a place around Lancaster, Pennsylvania that operated in the same way, only it was a celery stand. Best celery I have ever bought!

My photo is up!

mmmmm...fresh honey. There is something so seemingly wholesome about buying honey from a farmer's market or roadside stand.

Mmm. Crepes. Paris. When are we going? :)

Nice pics.

It is so great that folks can do business like that still!

I heard of a fishmonger in Nova Scotia Canada who does business like that, and he has never be robbed.

Great photos. I love the honey stand. Takes a lot of faith and trust to do business like that. Nice to see it still works.

That's a great night picture, especially since you captured the whole scene without a bright flash going off in the photo.

That's not an easy photo to take... great shot! Makes me want to walk right in. It's that cozy.
Love the honey pict too, just in time for fall!

I didnt play today, put up my other pictures instead, just goof off photos. Just didnt have a good foodie photo ready!

How charming. I love it.
My post is up. :)

Posted by Traci at September 9, 2006 9:03 PM

Mmmm...crepes! When we were there in March, it was so cold and rainy that I bought many crepes just to hold them in my hands to keep them warm.

(Well, not just for that.)

Anyway, since I'm not much of a photographer unless I'm on vacation, my pic's also from the same trip (as it was last week).

Thanks for asking about my Paris pics, Janet. I blogged a few entries about them, but never finished the rundown of the trip. But here is a link to one of the entries:

What a charming little bakery! (Mmm...crepes...one of the foods of the gods...)

Ham and cheese is indeed oishii. :) (There is something fun about those Japanese words that end in two "i"s. "Natsukashii" is great too...)

Posted by rampantbicycle at September 12, 2006 9:11 AM

I actually stayed in the hotel above that very boulangerie when I was in Paris in January...and their crepes were definitely to die for as were their other treats!
