The weekend

I am so sorry if I haven't stopped by to see your Friday or Saturday photo challenges, it's been a busy weekend! I do plan on catching up tonight, tho!

I headed up to Portland, Maine Saturday afternoon to meet Mo; she kindly agreed to help me shoot a wedding Sunday afternoon over on Peake's Island.

We hit Portland running, caught our breath while a fierce storm raged outside, then walked down to the piers for dinner, where I had some delicious lobster stew, yum! Afterward, we walked around downtown Portland where we saw a gorgeous transvestite, a cute guitar player and tons o' tourists.

I also saw these cool things called Jibbitz that you can put in the holes in your Crocs to decorate them! Here's what I did with mine:

left shoe right foot
(yes, I'm wearing socks today! YUCK!)

Saving these decorations for Halloween!

Doesn't it make you want to get a pair of Crocs?

That evening, back in the hotel, our room had a wall of windows, so we slept with the floor to ceiling curtains open, better to see the stars :-)

Sunday we got up, went to a local legend, Becky's, for breakfast, and then browsed the stores, where I bought a pair of Reef platform flip flops, which, yes, I did wear to the wedding (my dressy black pants were long enough to mostly hide the fact) and a ME sticker for ME's (MaryEllen) new car :-)

Then we caught the ferry over to Peake's Island and got ready for the wedding.

Here are some shots from the island:

Aren't the table decorations gorgeous?

That was my weekend, how was yours?

They'll always come up with SOMETHING won't they? :-) That's one of those "Now why didn't I think of that??" things.

Hmm...those are pretty cool...and the crocs are purple which is an additional bonus point...

...but...no, I still don't think I could wear them. My weirdly skinny feet dislike very much being in shoes that don't lace. :)

ha ha. there's nothing that would make me walk around in crocs. ;) They're worse than uggs (hoping I didn't insult you twice here. ha ha)

I spend my weekend dealing with a certain hungarian lifeguard. some good. some bad. Apparantly in Hungary, "no" means "yes with lots of kinky stuff thrown in".

Hey Janet! Those things look really fun - the jibbitz! I bookmarked the url to check it out some more. It does make me wanna get some Crocs. That lobster stew sounds so good; it must be really clean up that high North. Sounds like you had a really good weekend. :) The wedding table is beautiful.

The local sports store here sells those doo-dads for your crocs with team emblems on them. I think that's BRILLIANT.

THe wedding pictures are great, I saw them at flickr. What gorgeous table decor!
