Boobiethon 2006

A Geek In Beantown asked and I volunteered...to be a photo editor for Boobiethon 2006 (Laura, don't faint); and yes, I'll be submitting a picture, too:

The following is quoted directly from A Geek in Beantown:

Robyn posted a call for early photo submissions... In her own words: "A quick heads-up that we are now taking early photo submissions at the fifth annual Boobie-Thon. By making an early photo submission you help us make sure the site is already filled with content on launch-day (October 1st). You can find more information on how to submit photographs, and what kind of photographs are accepted, here."

Volunteers are still needed, especially a PR coordinator and male photo editors, so please read my last blog entry if you're interested in helping out. We'd love to have your help, your photos, etc. Also, we'd love it if you'd post about this and help spread the word!

So I've posted about it, and I expect some of you more adventurous types to submit photos! And don't email them to me, please follow the directions (and guidelines) here!

Thanks, and have fun!

Sounds like fun and a definite photographer's resume builder....seriously things for charity are always a plus. Herb Ritz better watch out though....you may be photographing Boobieton someday (when they do that!).

I can't post a picture. It would ruin my chances of becoming an elected official. And I plan to take over the world eventually. :) However, I can be a photo editor for the MEN's pecs shots. And possibly financial support, as it's a great cause. :)

PS, any news from your very generous friends about being a houseguest?

Laura will volunteer for anything for this cause..because she is civic minded like that..

I'm mulling this over. I can't decide if I want to do the full monty (scary for me) or something in between. But I will let you know if I do submit. And I will certainly blog about it. xo

Over the last several years, I think thanks largely to the internet, people have become much more creative in their attempts to raise money for breast cancer research and to raise awareness. I applaud them for it. I for one am a breast lover and have over the years made many breast-friendly suggestions for getting the word out...usually just to get a rise out of Mary...but I'm glad someone, or many someones, have finally started to recognize that using both the tongue in cheek aspect of this as well as going the titillating route (sorry) is really a clever way to raise money.

I am so not brave enough to do this. ;) But it's a cool idea!

I remember seeing this last year, thought it was awesome even then! I'm assuming they're talking about another Laura in the comments, as I'm a Laura also. I plan to take over the world some day... maybe before Carmen does, but only because I'm older and she'll live longer, so she can go next and improve on any mess i've made. However, I do promise to promote fundraisers for boobies in my campaign when I do!
Good Luck on this one, Janet!

Will you please explain this to me? I'm the slow one in the family!

I actually submitted a photo last year...I made my husband snap the pictures. He thought it was a hoot.
