The weekend

Went to see Leon Russell with Pat Friday night. Don't know who he is? Unless you're my age, you probably haven't heard of him. He was good though, it was a nice night to sit outside and listen to music.

Leon Russell

Drove up to Burlington, VT on Saturday...about a 4 hour drive...to see Mo's new house and to see Betsy & the girls, who were visiting Mo as well. What's the first thing I saw when I was pulling into a parking space in downtown Burlington? A shiba inu! Where was the shiba inu from? West Newton, MA LOL (close to where I live, relatively speaking)!

Burlington is gorgeous, I'll be going back soon, and not just to get some McKenzie maple sausages, no matter WHAT Mo thinks :-) God, they're good!!!

Saw signs on Rt. 89 up in VT...Moose crossing...deer crossing...BEAR crossing??! My mind would be boggled if I saw a bear on the highway! Bear? Mo says she's seen a couple crossing her path while driving. Bear? Sheesh!

My favorite picture from the weekend:

Burlington is perhaps my most favorite city in the US. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I knew someone who hit a bear while driving in VT.

I am glad you had a good weekend, though.

1. Is that Santa Claus singing in the top photo? Sure looks like him.

2. Now let's be honest if you saw a deer, a moose or a bear in the road you would pull over and take a picute of it. I KNOW you would!

3. Glad you had a nice weekend.

Hahahaha. I haven't thought of L.Russell in forever...
You were in Burlington!! Isn't the lake beautiful? My mother, sister and I werre born just across the lake in Plattsburgh. We have tons of family there. When we go 'home' we go up the VT side and take the ferry (Grand Isle) across and come home the NY side. My mum lives just outside Springfield MA.
Ahhh. Did ya stop at Ben and Jerry's? Cabot cheese? The Basket place at the junction of I-91 and I-89? I am jealous. I wanted to come home this summer. Oh well. Next year we WILL be there for the end of July.

I love the picture of the girls. They look so young, carefree and happy!

Believe it or not, I had a bear and her cub cross the interstate in front of me on Afton Mountain near Charlottesville once! Didn't hit them, thank goodness. I'd have had weeks of guilt over that one.

My weekend included much pool time, a hair cut, and working out. Whew! The excitement is killing me! ;)

I remember when the kids and I came up to visit, I realized we were lost when we started seeing the "bear crossing" signs. Middle of nowhere! Oh gawd, rotaries.......
