Thirteen Things about
me!

1. Les asked: "Any idea where I can find someone to help me pack my house???" Well, Les, why not try a local college? Or ask someone in your church (if you attend) if they know someone that needs a little cash...or maybe a couple of local teens? Moving is the PITS! I hope ...nope, not saying it, I'll jinx myself!

2. Amy wants to know, "why can't i marry johnny depp??????" I suspect it's cause he's got a girl and you've got a guy, but I could be wrong!

3. Tess asked me, "Who's buried in Grant's Tomb?" Um...Grant, I hope! Or maybe Jimmy Hoffa? Is this a trick question?

4. Amy (aka my secret spoiler!) had a real question: "With whom was your first hard core crush on? Did they know?" Amy...it's a bit hard for me to remember back past 1972 or so...I'm going to say it was Richie Upton (I presume you mean IRL). I met my first best friend, Pat, in the 9th grade, cause I had such a crush on Richie and I knew she knew him. Make friends with the boy's friends, right? Richie was a pretty cool guy; I remember hanging out with him a few times, he even let me paint his fingernails black (his Dad was pretty pissed off about that). Sadly Richie passed away that same year in a car accident. Poor Pat, tho...she and I are STILL friends, oh the things she's had to put up with!

5. Tracie asked, "How do they really know dogs are color blind??" (sorry, Tracie, I can't link to you because I get assaulted with popups each time I click on your link!) They asked Ron L. Hubbard to ask the dogs, or maybe it was Dr. Dolittle, and one of them translated for the dogs. Howzat?

6. Mysterious Lady asked me: "Where is Jimmy Hoffa buried?" Possibly Grant's Tomb? How about on the spaceship that's housing Suri for the time being? Have you checked your back yard and is this just a question to throw the cops off the trail? Hmmm...

7. Something's Missing asks the age old question, "Hey, tell me -- why did the chicken cross the road? :)" To get the worm the early bird missed? Cause a coyote was chasing it? It was curious about life on the other side?

8. christen (who has a GREAT blog name!) wants to know, "when will the next harry potter movie be released?" Not soon enough!!! But I'm betting on 7/7/07.

9. My cousin, Maribeth put me on the spot by asking, "Who is you favorite cousin?" Well, that would have to be my Mom's brother's son, Brian, of course! ;-) ahahahah! But you're a close second, lovie :-)

10. Megan asked a question I've asked myself quite a few times: "If you could change one thing about yourself, be it a physical attribute or personality trait, what would it be and why?" I'd change my low self-esteem issues! My friends would be thankful cause then they wouldn't have to hear my say how ugly I am, etc., etc., ad nauseum!

11. Karen said: "you & your clean & shiny guys- give me Aragorn!! I think I could handle Alan Rickman, the guy, too. Have you seen Love Actually? it IS the voice, isn't it..." Yes, I have seen Love Actually, and I didn't really care for his character in that movie. Really, it's the character of Snape I like...and oh my, yes, the voice is a big reason why! BTW, my aforementioned friend, Pat, has said the very same thing to me in regard to Aragorn & Legolas ROFLMAO!

12. Collen wants to know, "Do you like men in long hair or short hair? (I think I know so I'll ask one I don't, too) What would you say to Jonny Depp if you were introduced to him?" Strangely enough (strange because for most of my adult life I dated guys in the military who were required to have short hair) I like a guy with longish hair. Must be the hippy in me! As for JD...I'd probably stutter something incredibly stupid and ask him to show me his tattoos, like I did with Sean Astin when I met him LOL!

13. Finally (careful opening this, it's not exactly work friendly) Yo Tambien Te Mando Besos asks, "Janet couldn't we just share Johnny Depp? :)" Dude, sure! I'm all about the sharing!

Seeing as how there're only 4 more questioners, y'all are getting a bonus today!

13a. TNChick wants to know: "...what digital cameras do you own and which is your fave?" And also, she asks, "how come, even tho I check "remember me", this thing won't remember my name, email, URL?" I have a Sony DSC-717 and a Canon20d. I love them both, the Canon is more interesting, as I can change lenses (anyone want to buy me a 70-200mm f/2.8L USM lens?), but I end up using the Sony more often, cause I'm less worried about damaging it! Which is stupid, cause it's STILL an expensive camera LOL! And dude, I have NO IDEA why it won't remember you and I'm terribly sorry! Bad, bad thing!

13b. The next question is from RacerX, who was recently in town and got to see me slightly drunk (all I have to say is I'm glad he didn't witness what happened in the bathroom with Krista, me & the guy in the stall). Anyway, he says: "I want to know...how's the tooth???... :-)" I talked about what happened to the tooth here; it'sfine now, better than before and no more Granny Clampett!

13c. Shari said: "I thought I was alone in this world! Glad to discover I'm not the only one who gets a little shivery at the sound of Alan Rickman's voice, especially as Snape. After the first movie, my friends and I were grabbing some snacks and I asked who else thought Snape was strangely hot and they all just looked at me. Oops." She didn't really ask ME this question, but as I think Snape is hot, I thought I'd address it! Oh, no, you are SO not alone in this world in regard to thinking Snape is hot, strangely or otherwise!

13d. Mel rhetorically asked, at the end of a statement: "Yep, it's the Old North Church. Ron and I were there last fall and the pew with the name Captain Timothy Daniell is still there. (of course you knew Tim was named for him?) Um...yes, yes, sure I did! *scratches head* Somewhere deep in the recesses of this thing I call a brain, I did know it. But heck, she won't see this anyway, she's on vacation :-)

Good questions and answers! I have never seen a Harry Potter movie. Please don't hate me!

Nifty idea for a T13, that was a fun read. I'm just not getting the Snape thing, though, sorry. Johnny Depp, on the other hand, is a dream. ;)

great answers to some burning questions.

That is some TT list!

These are much better...
My list is up

My TT is up now too.

Yeah, like Brian ever lent you his Jane West doll!

Posted by Maribeth at August 3, 2006 6:53 AM

that's a lot of comments for 7 a.m!

And what is it about self esteem? We're both awesome women, but we don't think so???!!! We just need to keep telling ourselves that!

Posted by carmen at August 3, 2006 7:00 AM

Great idea for a list. But Snape freaks me out!!

Thanks for visiting my TT!

Interesting list to read down! Why Snape?
MY T13 is up. Happy Thursday!

Ironically, I just read about how we know that dogs are colorblind. Actually, they aren't really completely colorblind, they just confuse red and green, like men who are colorblind.

They figured this out by teaching dogs to recognize colors, and also by comparing dog's eyes to human's. The dogs are missing some cones or something that help us see color.

Happy Thursday!

Wow........I'm honored that I made the list!!! Although I nevah got an answer to my "other" question..........despite promises promises... LOL.....:-)

Posted by racerx_86 at August 3, 2006 9:21 AM

I wanna marry Johnny Depp too. *sigh* And ironically, my 9 year old daughter just informed me the other day that although it sounds like a trick question, Grant really is NOT buried in Grant's tomb. In fact, no one is. Grant is ENTOMBED in his tomb, along with his wife. My kid is a cheeky monkey. Michele sent me today!

Tatoos are such a great conversation breaker! I just learned from Carmen that in Las Vegas they have flavored oxygen you can buy!

Hey, I was right. I thought you'd say "long hair." Me too. "Longish" is even better.

This was a great idea...fun!

Posted by colleen at August 3, 2006 9:53 AM

Heh heh...hey, what's wrong with liking clean and/or shiny guys? ;) I mean, admittedly there's something to be said for Fetchingly Disheveled boys, but grungy ones? Mmm...not really my thing. ;)

Posted by rampant bicycle at August 3, 2006 10:53 AM

My question made it to the list!
What's with all this not understanding why you like Snape? He IS SO SEXY! Voice, hair and darkness around... :)

Posted by Yo Tambien Te Mando Besos at August 3, 2006 11:22 AM

Happy Thursday to you!! I can so relate to #10. That would have been my answer, too. You were asked some really good questions!!

Posted by Leanne at August 3, 2006 12:21 PM

LMAOROTFL! No haven't checked the back yard yet!

Your awesome!

{{{hugs}}}

Beth

Mysterious Lady now has plans for me to dig up her back yard. Thanks a lot....LOL

Posted by Eagle Lover at August 3, 2006 1:19 PM

I'm the same way with celebrities. Nonsense comes out of my mouth as the celebrity looks at me as if wondering if he/she should pity the girl with an obvious speech handicap.

Posted by Christine at August 3, 2006 1:40 PM

Good list. Come see my T13.

Posted by Barb at August 3, 2006 1:48 PM

Unusual list yes. Like it.

#13a I recognize too well. I have the same problem. I end up using my point and shoot type of camer instead of my big baby - a Samsung DigiMax Pro815, which by the way I don't have to change lenses on because it's all built in. Very practical to a lazy person like me...

And it never seems to remember my personal info either. Strange - I'm such a delightful person aren't I? *lol*

Posted by Mrs Lifecruiser at August 3, 2006 1:58 PM

Yeah, I wouldn't mind some Alan Rickman. I liked him in "Sense And Sensibility". Jenny, a TT newbie:)

Posted by Jenny Ryan at August 3, 2006 2:03 PM

I have very much enjoyed you Q and A 13's!! Very entertaining!

Happy Thursday, my 13 is up!

Posted by YellowRose at August 3, 2006 2:42 PM

This is a good idea for a TT list. I had never thought of it and may try it out one week. Great questions and interesting answers. Have a wonderful Thursday...

Posted by Ardice at August 3, 2006 5:18 PM

That's a great graphic of Snape; very attractive.

Posted by Scone at August 3, 2006 6:12 PM

The thing never remembers me either, but I keep clicking the radial button. Everytime we watch HPs we all think of you now durning the Snape scenes! His pauses and jestures and looks, etc. get us cracking up so bad!!! Especially his quick movements!!

Posted by Ocean Lady at August 3, 2006 6:52 PM

Great responses, as always! You should have a "Dear FOS" column....It would make for an interesting read...that's for sure!
Thanks for stopping by, as you always do. :)

Posted by rusvw at August 3, 2006 7:02 PM

Funny...I've pegged 07/07/07 for the release of the 7th Harry Potter book. Wouldn't that be something if we got the new movie and the book on the same day?

BTW, I signed up at blogger, so you'll be able to comment without any problems (stupid Xanga!)

Posted by Julie at August 3, 2006 8:35 PM

As far as dogs being color blind, I think you might have your information mistaken.

They asked Tom Cruise, you know, the enlightened one, and he told us. ;)

Thanks for stopping by my TT!

Posted by Pink Chihuahua Princess at August 4, 2006 9:47 PM

I knew you had those two - I was wonderin' why you used the Sony more... now I know. =)
