Stuff Portrait Friday

Random and Odd's 3 items for this week, and I think she might be PMSing: "No really...this is your assignment. GET ANNOYED WITH ME PEOPLE."

1. Stuff that annoys the living shit out of you:

Oh...oh man...since I can't post what I'd really LIKE to post, cause it's not worth the heartburn it'd create (if you think I'm talking about you, I mostly like am), I'll post about zombies:

christian zombie
zombie-hating christians!

I mean...c'mon! These zombies are cute!

zombie pirate
a pirate zombie!

zombie family
a zombie family! Awwww, how could you hate them?

2. YOUR space:

Curvy line of paw prints
some time at the beach is my favorite way to recharge myself!

My second favorite space is this:

path and sky
a nice hike in the woods!

3. Something in your life that keeps the makers of Xanax in business:

Get that thing out of my face! Hold still, really still...

Mostly the first guy LOL! Meet Wolf (left) and Max (right). Wolf is a Shiba Inu, Max is a mixed breed. Shiba inus are a HANDFUL, let me tell you! They do something called a shiba scream (multiply a woman's scream x 10), they are escape artists extraordinaire, and oh boy do they have a mind of their own! And stubborn! They were bred to hunt wild boar...their top weight is 37 pounds. Tough, very tough dogs.

Last week I asked a question: I'm considering a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens to complement what I already have, which is the 50mm f/1.8 lens and a 17-85mm f/4-5.6. Would you say the 24-70 is a good idea or what would you suggest? I'd love the 70-200 f/2.8, but eeeeeeeeee it's so expensive! and I'd like to thank everyone who had some input. I ended up getting the 70-200mm f/4 lens, and my first wedding is September 10th. So I've got another question this week: Can I wear jeans & flip flops to the wedding? Kidding! ***EDITED*** new stuff that annoys the living shit out of me is that people think I'd really wear jeans and flip flops to a wedding! Is the word "kidding" invisible after the jjeans and flip flops question? sheeeeeeeesh!

Seriously, any tips/techniques you'd like to share? I'd love to hear! Thanks :-)

those zombies bug you too? a shiba scream sounds xanax worthy...geez, that reminds me I need to go feed my dogs, they're yipping is annoying enough ;) and if they're nice jeans and flip flops, why shouldn't you wear them?

That's right. Proffessional attire is a must. But make it comfortable proffessional attire.

I haven't taken wedding pictures for anyone except the family so I don't know that much about it, but I say get some of the traditional type of photos and then use your creativity to do some different shots. I know you'll do that and add some of your own special touches. That what makes it.

I love how dogs look at you out of the corner of their eyes. Very cute.

Uh..speaking of dogs I think one of yours tracked all over your space. Might want to clean that up.

I know the bride said she does not want a lot of formal shots but have her write down a list of what she does want this way you can get them done more quickly and release people who will not be needed in later shots.

You will also need to be directive - people tend to drift (toward the food and drink) during the photos. Getting everyone to stay in one place makes getting the formal shots (even if there are only a few) done an out of the way faster.

Do you allow your assistant to drink while she assists you?

Luv the pix of the pups!

I played too :)

Sometimes I think that the reason dogs and cats are so cute is that then we don't want to KILL THEM when they drive us crazy. ;)

Happy Friday. Love the pictures. Now how could anyone hate Zombies? :)

hey, that last zombie picture is my family portrait - harharhar!

for the wedding (heh, i typed "weeding") come with a list of what shots you want to get... i know the bride sometimes does this but there is soooo much going on that she's likely to forget (not that i did that, nope, not me). but yeh, the traditional family group shots, friend group shots, wedding ceremony shots, reception "candid" shots. then get some fun ones with the friends and bride and groom - showing leg, being carried, peeking around a corner... feel free to come flip through my album for some ideas - my photographer did some great things with lighting and candles and such!

and i say... if the flip flops don't stink, where 'em!

I'd love to be walking across that beach right about now.

I didn't play this week - I slept in. Hehehe.

okay since I totally blew the flip flop and jeans question I need to ask if you want ideas for wedding shots? I have a few ideas on that, and I can tell and show you those when you are here.

Well, I have to say that I *love* zombies. I read the page about Shibas, and I don't think I would get along with a Shiba. We'd butt heads waaaaaaay too much. I'm just as stubborn and my ears are too sensitive for Shiba screams. However, Wolf is a darling and I lurve him. As long as he stays at your place, lol. :)

Were the zombie shots from some sort of zombie festival or parade or something?

I think there should be an Amish parade so the zombies can sit around with posters covered in bible verses that explain why the Amish are evil. ;-)

The beach and woods shots and doggie portraits are all loverly.

I have no advice whatsoever about taking wedding photos. :-)

Bring your puppies over here and they can scream at the kids for me, I'm going hoarse. I wanna go to your place, I wonder if there's a place around here like that....

I played!

I played yesterday but did not get around much because blogger was being ugly! Came looking for Saturday Photo and found this instead!

Zombies ewwww!
Wolf and Max are adorable but your description does make them sound like a constant bit of work! Escape artist! Hmm

Can't help on the camera stuff. Don't know enough!

Those are all great shots! Nice close up of the two dogs. I didn't know that about Shiba Inus.

The beach and the woods look glorious!

Have a nice Sunday!
