On the way back from picking Pat & family up at the airport, I saw this little girl (recent mom?) grabbing some breakfast:
She wasn't bothered by me in the least, I think she was really hungry!

Oh how cute! My dad found a couple of those in my back yard (not in a good way) :(
She's determined! That's a great capture...she remind me of the merecats we've been watching on Animal Planet :)
I love those shots! Especially the middle one where she has a leaf in her mouth. "How much wood could a woodchuck, chuck, if a woodchuck, could chuck wood????"
Great pics. I don't think I've ever seen a woodchuck before (woodchucks being thin on the ground in AZ) - they're cute!
Yep, I would say she is a recent Mom or a member of the Dolly Parton Woodchuck family!
I've noticed lately that the "wild" animals seem to be less and less concerned about us. We could quaintly say that they are just getting used to us...I'm inclined to think its because they are just about to take over....
how adorable! I love them....but they eat everything in sight!
we have a few that are ENORMOUS!
How cute Janet-I don't think that I've ever seen a Woodchuck before. She's adorable. There aren't any woodchucks here, but lots of gecko's. They are really cure too.

ooooo we have one of those little buggers in Maine. He eats EVERYTING in our garden that is tender and new. Mom and I have had to device a whole fencing system to keep him out. However, we are not entirely cruel, when we sit on the back porch hulling the quarts and qquarts of Strawberries we pick to make jam on shortcake on 4th weekend we will throw the tops down to the flat rock below. His (or her) majesty will spend HOURS eating every last one.
One year my stepdad instituted the woodchuck relocation program. We cauught him in a friendly trap (with a bait of French bread) and we loaded him on the boat and brought him across the lake to move into new quarters on the far shore. Worked a treat.
