Now THAT was a season finale!
Sawyer, ripping his shirt off and diving into the water to swim to the sail boat...YUM!
But wait, there's more...don't read if you haven't seen it!
- I was cringing, just waiting for the boat that Michael & Walt were on to blow up [my friend, Jules, thinks Michael will turn the boat around to rescue Jack, Freckles & Sawyer...what do you think?]
- The remaining half leg & foot of the statue; 1. reminded me of the statues in LOTR and 2. four toes?
- Loved Desmond's back story.
- Is the island definitely a product of the government? The guy who rescued(?) Desmond said he was a spook for 10 years...that makes me think yes...or was that all a plan of Pen's father's too? Did that guy not type in the numbers, causing a system failure when Desmond's sailboat was near, similar to when Desmond didn't type in the numbers and caused the plane to crash?
- Desmond...and LIBBY??? Was Libby Pen's father's second wife? How did Libby then end up in the mental hospital? Is that why "the others" let Hurley go?
- Why didn't Locke believe Desmond?
- Who knew that notHenry was actually their LEADER??!
- Locke's face: I think I made a mistake. HOLY MOG!
- Personal experience matters: Eko & Locke saw the same film and drew very different conclusions.
- Pen, at the end...why/how did she know to look for a magnetic anomaly? Did Daddy do something?
- During the magnetic...explosion? release? Why did the sky turn a different color and everyone's ears hurt, then all was ok?
- Think Desmond survived? I love his accent and his curly hair :-)
And completely unrelated to the plot questions: Why did I like the sound of alcohol sloshing about in it's bottle so much? Made me want a drink, yo!

I thought Michaels boat would blow up too - but I think they're gone for good - Walt cant pass as a kid anymore.
OH - the statue! I forgot about that. What was up with that?
I almost think Desmond HAS to survive, with his girlfriend being connected now...so weird.
Michael- blah. I hope Walt makes him turn back. my fave line? when Sayid was talking about the statue having only 4 toes... so now what are we supposed to watch all summer???
I don't think Michael's going to come back for the gang. I think his boat's going to be sucked back to the island like Desmond's was.
I have no idea what is up with that statue. It's damn creepy, though.
At this point I have no reason to believe the Hanso Foundation is government-funded, although I wouldn't be surprised to learn they had a hand in the stuff taking place on the island.
Not sure if Kelvin deliberately caused Desmond to wash up on the island. At that point, he was still committed to pushing the button, but he still might have caused a "system failure" by accident.
I didn't get the feeling that Libby had anything to do with Penelope's father. I was just glad to know we might be seeing more of her in people's backstories. Yay! No idea how she ended up in the mental hospital -- maybe a grief-induced breakdown? I don't really think Libby has anything to do with why the Others let Hurley go. They had to send somebody back with a warning and I believe that was their intention for Hurley all along. I'm more curious about why they chose Jack, Sawyer, and Kate.
Locke didn't believe Desmond because he's gone back to relying on proof rather than faith, and he couldn't verify Desmond's claims. Also, I think Locke's a little embarrassed he was pushing that button all that time without knowing why, and that someone was watching him do it.
I wasn't that surprised to find out NotHenry is the Others' leader. It was a pretty typical fake-out.
I think Penelope was looking for a magnetic anomaly because she has some idea of what Daddy is/was up to. Remember, Mr. Widmore's company was responsible for building a lot of things for the Hanso Foundation.
I'm guessing that loud noise and bright light are what happens when you have an overload of electromagnetic energy. In TV land, anyway.
I'm still wondering if Desmond, Locke, and Eko survived. Guess we'll find out (at some point) in season three.
Feel free to check out my recap and let me know if I've missed anything important.
I LOVE THIS SHOW! I love me some Jack! Yummy, yummy and Sawyer too. Desmond is looking pretty hot too. I love when he says, "brother".
Great theories about Libby! Now they are finally showing us more connections. Hallelujuah! lol about the alcohol!! I wish I could have a drink too! :)
Seriously, this is THE best show on TV.
I'm thinking Michael & Walt are gone for good but what about Vincent? poor pup.
Have you seen the commercials for the Hanso foundation? Love that.
I can't believe we've gotta wait until fall. That seems FAR too long!
I wondered why Michael and Walt didn't get sucked back to the island when the magnetic stuff started happening...ooooh, maybe they did...
Yeah! Charlie and Claire! At least Charlie got out. What about Des, Locke and Eko?
I love, love, love this show, but I did NOT feel like I had (m)any questions answered last night! I can not wait until this show returns. I'm totally going into withdrawal already. :)
I also thought for sure that the boat was going to blow up...and I love me some Desmond, especially in his back story!! :)
I don't know about Michael coming back because I read somewhere that Harold Perrineau (however you spell it) is only on recurring status for next season.
The foot was bizarre and Sayid's line was great.
I love Desmond. LOVE him. Rowr.
One of the guys at the end in the cold country looked amazingly like Jack, but it apparently wasn't actually Matthew Fox. However, I don't think they do anything on this show for no reason.
At least we know the rest of the world is still intact now!
And boy do we have a lot to think about all summer!
SO many questions......all tied into one huge mystery!!!!
Here's my question. Why did all the boys take off their shirts to jump in the ocean, cuz they didn't want to get those wet, but they kept their PANTS on? ;)
It was a good finale. I still have it on the TiVo, I might watch it again to make sure I understood everything.
OMG! I've wandered over here to your blog for SPF and got sidetracked reading the lost recap. As Carmen said, why didn't they take off their pants?
The statue foot reminded me of the Colossus (ancient wonder of the old world). Could the magnetic anomolly be causing time/space to warp, mixing up different points in history?
Yes, I spent waaaay too much time pondering that one.
Stupid summer break...makes me wait until September...
