MaryEllen's husband passed away today. He was ill for quite some time, and she was lucky enough to have been able to talk with him before he passed.

Dan's titles through the years were son, husband, father, Vietnam vet, cop, and landscaper, friend, and oh, Dr. Let me explain: when MaryEllen first showed me a picture of him, I thought he looked like a young Dr. Smith of "Lost in Space" fame, so the next time I sent her a letter, I addressed it to Mrs. MaryEllen Lastname-Smith. Dan, of course, got the mail that day and wanted to know why I'd addressed the letter that way, ME explained and he thought I was crazy ;-)

Dan was a good man and I'll miss him.
