questions and laughter

Wednesday night I spent $160.00 on picture frames, all wood, black or white or reddish-brown. Last night I went to Starbucks to see what the wall looked like where I'll be hanging my pictures and to enjoy a cinnamon dolce latte (yum!). There were 9 pictures I think, mainly 11 x 17, mostly travel shots, some with people, and all in frames like this:

They were hanging from braided wire, which was attached to a long metal rod. I wonder if the weight of the wood frames will be too much? I wonder if I need to have bigger pictures on display? Many of what I wanted to use are 5 x 7...

Do you ever watch My Name is Earl? Last night, Earl goes into a book store to find a book that will help one of the folks on his list (people he's wronged, that he must right in order to improve his karma) not kill himself. The man he talks to directs him to the "self-help" section and then mentions that maybe books on tape would be helpful. Earl says, with a puzzled look on his face, "you mean like sticky" and presses his forefinger and thumb together to mime stickiness. I. nearly. died. Such a simple comedy, so damn funny!

what color wall will they be on? i'm partial to black frames with a white mat... you could do a 8x10 frame matted to 5x7. though i do like the "frameless" frames (like you show above). i think a lot depends on the wall color... yeh, that's my story and i'm sticking to it.

No, I wish I was watching this. I have the feeling that this will be a show that I end up not seeing until its cancelled and on DVD and then feeling guilty about missing it like I did with Wonderfalls.

I'm with Monique, I love black frames, white matte...however, I'd have to see the wall to truly help. I've always loved metal cord/rods too. I was thinking of doing that with mine when/if I show them at the library. The size depends on the room. I think you're on your own with this one, sweetie...because none of us can see the display area...you'll know best what to do.

This one shows the same pictures but with Wolfie & I on the couch to compare sizewise if that would help.

Those frames look great! How long have you got them on show for?
