Friday thoughts...

"It is a man's own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways."
- Buddha

I saw this quote over on Buzz's blog and found it very interesting. Do you?

Last night I had dinner with Pat, then we went to see Nanny McPhee. Cute piece of fluff, that oldest boy needs to eat a sandwich or three. Also, the actress who's portraying Professor Umbridge was the cook in this movie and I had no trouble imagining her as Umbridge! Can't wait for that ;-)

Came home to hear Dad had taken Max for a walk that day, to the coffee shop in the center of town. They actually let him bring Max inside, which is great. It worries me a bit, though, as Dad's kind of unsteady on his feet...he has a hard time with curbs or walking uphill. I don't want to tell him NOT to walk Max, but ... eek, you know? I told him he'd look debonair with a cane, what do you think?

My brother stopped by yesterday, to see if he could fix my tv...no luck. No sound, so sad. Anyone have an extra tv they'd like to get rid of for awhile? My Tivo'd things are building up LOL!

What's the big deal about a little snow? Haysus! What the hell, did we become the deep south or something? Lots of snow is NOTHING to a natve New Englander, it's a way of life, like Dunkin Donuts coffee or rotaries...damn ratings-driven, blow it all out of proportion media. Sheesh!

My grandfather refused a cane for a while, then my mom found him one with a duck head on the top- he likes ducks. I dunno if your dad has any interests that are on a cane though!

I'd lend you my 19in tv but I think it's a little far for you tho :( Its in the bedroom not being used at all.

Ohh the snow... it's a huge deal here!! I was hoping for a lot of the white stuff but I was going to have a little bday party and now I'm oncerned I will have ot cancel!

That was a great way of suggesting a cane to your Dad.....

TVs are kinda expensive to ship....I tried to mail Pop Tarts to Canada and they wanted $42.00!!!! Cripes!!!!

don't even laugh... i have a 20" tv sitting in our spare room, and a 9" w/dvd player that we use for trips. let me talk to Ken. i can probably hook you up with something. do you have a sears card? it's 10% off with your sears card weekend... come up to nh and there's no tax. just a thought.

we are soooo looking forward to snow! Ken has his brand new monster snowblower and we all have new snowshoes! we moved to NH for snow... not 50 degree days!

Rotaries?

*backing away slowly*

We didn't get the big snow. They called it off for us. The most we got were a couple of minutes of "snow downpour" and it was gone in no time. Husband was disappointed. Not me. I'm ready for Spring! Phooey on snow.

Your Dad would look totally handsome with a cane. I hope he takes the suggestion.
