Help!!!

Ok, here's my assignment for you people. Megan wants me to write a blurb about myself for my new photography venture...I'm having a hard time with it (shocking).

If you had to write a descriptive paragraph about yourself for such a venture, what would you say?

Write me a paragraph, eh? Help!

Um. Boy, that is a tough one. If it were me, I couldn't write about my acheivements or recognitions in photography, because well, I don't have any. LOL. I'd probably talk more about what my "vision" is, how I use photography to see things differently or show people how I see things, or why I like photography. If I were doing portriture I'd talk about what kind I like or how I try to enhance how people come across in photos.

Or, I'd look around at other photographer's "blurbs' and see what they said. LOL!!!!

It might help if you gave us a better idea of how the blurb is to be used.

Goodluck.

i can't write it for you silly, but i can spew ideas at you!

start with why photography... i mean, it could be a painting or baking. favorite things to photograph, plans (maybe a seasonal series of one particular location), when did you first get interested in it, what made you want to persue it? that kind of stuff... it only needs to be a few sentences.

Janet, a free spirited blah blah blah with a great eye for photography. first got interested in picture taking on a vacation to blah blah blah and focused on capturing the essence of the blah blah blah. well traveled and blah blah blah she loves her dogs, family, friends and a good dirty martini.

but don't quote me on any of that. ;-)

Definitely end with monique's dirty martini line. I'd put something about seeing beauty in unusual places. (I'm thinking of mushroom pictures here.) Maybe sees the beauty of the everyday?

"Ugly, fat, old single woman will take pics of your pets"?

or

My interest in photography is to take the one unique shot often unseen by the casual photographer. It is the essence of the subject I am trying to capture: the sheer joy of an occassion, the timelessness of a portrait, the feature you will remember forever.

I like ME's SECOND suggestion and Monique's blah blah blah paragraph.

Seriously sorry I do not have more for you, I would be asking others just like you are.

Geez, I wish I can help ya out. I really like ME's second paragraph a lot..it sounds like you :) I'm having problems myself just to get a freakin business name! How pathedic Am I?

How about something like...

I always feel uncomfortable when it comes to writing about myself, so instead I'll share a recent NY Times review: "Brilliant! A talented eye for capturing the moment. And best of all, her photos are almost always in focus."

That will teach those nosey blurb reading individuals a lesson! :)

I would open with a personal glimpse of why you decided to do what you do, why you love it, and what you hope people will get out of it.

I think ME said it best....(the second one silly)....
you have an incredible gift.....use it to your advantage....
OR we will all kick your ass!

ME's quote was very well said. I thinks it's about convey your passion and uniqueness that makes what you do "special"....art versus a photograph.....:-)

Good Luck,...but I'm confident you'll be successful!!!

Can we buy stock????...........:-))
