<< Ahhhh, I love November and December and 4 days off all in a row! | Main | The perils of not being thorough >>
Let's see what y'all can come up with...

Found this over at MissMeliss, who found it somewhere else :-)

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, (even if we don't speak often) please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me. It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people DON'T ACTUALLY remember about you.

Consider it a short writing exercise, just something to waste a few minutes of time, if you like.

Depspite having a lousy day at work I agreed to go see this band with you. The band did not go on until late night; far past the time I turn into a pumpkin but you are my friend after all so here I sit.

You are in the seat next to me giddy at the prospect of seeing the drummer. The band finally comes on stage and you do something I could have never imagined - you rush the stage and plant a kiss right on the drummers lips. Then, more calmly than you went, you arrive back at your seat, toss back your last shot and say, "let's go".

We met on one of those tours they make movies about - you know, 10 cities in 21 days - that sort of thing. The other women on the bus were reading Daphne DuMaurier novels, but we both had Harry Potter books, despite being adults. Or maybe because of it. We grinned over our copies, and began exchanging thoughts on what would happen next, and whether Snape was evil or not (the consensus was that either way, he was sexy.)

You saw the Knight Bus first, asking, "Did you see it go all squishy?" as if you weren't sure, but I had, and, without needing to confirm the plan aloud, we both ran for it.

Lunch at Hogwarts was so much better than a walking tour of yet another cute village, really. Pity no one ever believed us.

We walked for over an hour. The house was further than we thought but at least we had the ocean, always to our right, to guide us. Janet was taken in by the beauty that is the Greek Isles but she forged ahead, never slowing to admire the countless pristine views. There would be time for that later.

After nightfall the path became dangerous because it wound it's way close to the edge of the coastline, some 100 feet below us. The darkness played with our minds but our goal was singular; get Janet to the large house at the end of the island so that she could play with her new X-Box 360.

Remember the time when we flew to London on a moment's notice when you scored those front row tickets to see Percy!? I can still remember the look on his face when he took you up on stage and had you sing along with him. Even better than that was palling around with him after the show - you and he - having drinks and discussing LOTR :)

I love to think about the time you and I hopped on our yacht and spent a month cruising the Greek Islands! We met those gorgeous hunks, who wanted nothing more then to spend their days feeding up grapes, wine and cheeses and then making wild love to us, in the warm sunshine.
Yes, that was a wonderful trip. I think we should do it again!

I'll never forget the day we sat on the beach with our pb and j sandwiches and decided to add a jelly fish we had found between the bread in L's sandwich and he ate it all while we sat there and laughed our heads off.

I just did a memory for Megans so I had to jump over and do yours!! ....

So, there we were, surrounded by Canadian Mounted Police. You told me we'd have no problem getting back across the border with the body. Even though I KNEW it would never work. Oh, sure, "it's for my research" you tell them. "I'm a doctor" you tell them. I knew we'd never make it back into the states with that story. So I really had no choice did I? I mean, Canadian Prison is not for me; all that bacon and flannel, no thank you! And mayonaise on my fries - no way, I'm a ketchup girl. I'm sure you remember, the jar of cheese whiz I threw at him, the sound it made as it exploded against the wall, how fast we ran out of the station into the woods... I never ran so fast, or laughed so hard in my life! That's why we always toast - "to the cheese whiz!" :)

Remember that time we stood outside Snape's window and caught him listening to beautiful music--that tear in his eye. And then he heard us? I never ran so far and so fast in my life. But you stayed behind. What happened?

That's between Snape and me, literally :-) Well, Remus might know a thing or two about it, as well. But that's it!

So THAT's why Duran Duran wrote "Hungry Like the Wolf" aaahhhh, I see now. Full moon and all :)

Ok, now that one made me laugh!
